Baaaaah.

I wish I had noticed he was a PhD before I posted my comments there. I was waaaaay too deferential to a non-physician. He's not one bit more qualified to weigh in on self-directed or physician assisted treatment than anyone here.

I am deeply troubled by the incredible audacity and insensitivity of Michael J. Breus, Ph.D. writing an article expressing his opinions. What shall we do with this heretic?

Multiple posts there are allowed. You can take another shot at Breus.

I'm just thinking of how many people might read his article and become afraid to take control of their own therapy. Criminal, IMO.

Criminal? Next he will be denying the holocaust and claiming that the world is flat.

Just as there are "good" and "bad" physicians, there are also "good" and "bad" psychologists. I find it interesting that Dr. Breus does not adhere to one of the psychology profession's most important aspirational values - patient autonomy.

Is there a link to this article? I read the PT posted online article from their May 2019 issue but it is not about sleep apnea. Do I need to get a print copy? Thanks all!

Good work, ladies and gentlemen! I wish I had time to join your efforts in debunking the lies of those kinds of "Dr"s, but you just took care of it! Thank you for staying vigilant!

Big business is slowly but surely making health care - an important derivative of the most-fundamental human right - life - a source of profits. We should take every opportunity we get to fight all attempts of the Big Manipulation Machine to misinform and confuse people, and control them for their own, nefarious purposes.

Is it possible that the Russians are hacking our healthcare system? Putin may be trying to control the CPAP market. Watch for Russian made units beginning to appear on Craigslist.

I only collect evidence. If I had clear evidence no crime had been committed, my report would have said so.

Markets corrupt. Cartel-run markets corrupt absolutely.

I would call the Russians and ask about that, but I think my Chinese-made phone is about to get banned or something.

It seems to me that Breus's main focus is to maintain his sleep apnea revenue stream.
Can't have PT's slipping their leashes and managing their own therapy!
Think of the lost billings! *gasp*

I'm very curious what kind of shrink is involved in sleep apnea treatments....

What do you mean? I always call an electrician when I need help with a plumbing problem. Don't you?

Is it wrong that while I was behind enemy lines I somehow enjoyed being called a troll?

Remind me to ask my therapist about that next week. I hope I haven't crossed the line into the dark side. Again.

People opting for cognitive behavioral therapy for help with sleep disorders likely would be sent to a psychologist for therapy. I got the impression he is still learning about apnea - he certainly did not impress me as an expert in any way.
