I like the idea of the threads carrying the person's name as it does keep it all together, and that helps. I can also see that I am skipping them more since I don't know if the topic is one I can help with, and I tend to look for those first. Since there is already a lot to learn for new people, I think it is better to keep the thread in one topic than ask them to include their name AND topic. So, I will just try to be better at reading posts with names. It is hard enough getting new people to list their equipment, download the software, and post their graphs. I think we regulars can learn to open posts that don't say what the specific problem is.

I noticed this trend, and wondered how it got started.
Could it be newbies are following instructions?
Fascinating.
~~~ it's the vaccines. It makes *us* more compliant.
Speaking of, after reading that people in 'my generation' probably got ineffective measles vaccines when we were young, I went and got a booster MMR a couple weeks ago, since I *DO NOT* want to get measles now.... and I don't think I had it when I was a kid... pretty sure I had chicken pox and mumps though.
Measles booster--good idea.
At my age, why push my luck?
I'm in the 'gap', people much older than I am almost certainly had the measles, people some years younger likely got effective measles vaccines, except for today's kids with idiotic parents, that are the cause of the new epidemic.
Are you guys getting Shingrix?
Gramps and I have each completed both doses. Expect some side effects.
Due for second injection first week in July. Yes on the side effects... couldn't lift my arm for 48 hours. Doctor said Tylenol and ice. It helped.
I have had shingles: (1) In my early twenties
(2) In my early sixties - Bad
(3) in my late sixties
Same place (right side ribcage).
So one can have multiple episodes.
Shingrix is probably a good idea.
One man's opinion,
no side effects on the first one. part deux, experience some mild soreness around the injection site that lasted a day or two.
btw, we were on the waiting list for around 3 months for the initial injection, but less than 2 for the second. i understand there were waiting lists all over.
was all ya all's that long? i don't know if being in the wilds of northern arizona made our wait longer or not.
It just seemed longer because there is nothing to do in the wilds.
According to reports in the mainstream media, demand for the new, potentially more effective product called Shingrix has outpaced inventory at manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In some regions of the country, pharmacies have been forced to set up waiting lists for patients interested in getting the shot.
We got our first Shingrix shots in March, due now for the second but we are on the waiting list, again. Took 9 months on the wait list to get the first dose!
I had no side effects besides a sore arm, my husband felt sick for a couple days. Men.
On the vaccine subject, I think I had measles as a kid, for sure chicken pox and mumps. 25 years ago when taking some college classes, the MMR was required so I got that.
And I get a flu shot every year.
I've been considering getting re-vaccinated myself, having been born in 1961. I know I was vaccinated, just not exactly when, or with what version.
