Because I found it very discouraging when I was struggling badly and had exactly ZERO responses to my post... but hey, it's probably never happened to you, so why worry about it, right?
Looking for your unanswered topic.

Can't find it, would you mind inking to it.

The important thing isn't just getting responses. It's getting accurate responses. And none of us knows everything. That said, I apologize if your expectations were not met.

The best part is that with the package I purchased, I also have unlimited access to a RRT "sleep coach" who has been able to assist with recommendations

Every member of CPAPTalk has unlimited access to sleep coaches with likely better quality advice.
That's assuming you get a response to your thread here asking for help...
Which is so rare, why even mention it?

Your profile shows your activity in 13 threads all were active and answered. please post the one you are referring to. Jim

Many can't be answered due to lack of info provided or failure to ask the question, some too goofy to respond to.

I'm sorry if this happened to you. It has happened to me, but not on this forum.
Do you have questions or concerns that we can answer for you now?

Oh? where? I see no posts from you asking anything... you've mainly been offering comments about batteries.

Thanks for the replies, and apologies for derailing this thread - that wasn't my intention... it just struck a bit of a nerve for me.

The post in question was about some wicked aerophagia I was fighting, and included quite a bit of detail about what I had tried and what was helping and what wasn't. After the post sat out there for 3-4 weeks without so much as a reply, and having worked through a majority of the issues with a move to bi-level, I deleted the thread as I didn't feel it was helpful having it hang out there. I suspect that a moderator or forum admin could probably find the post or reference to the deletion since my statement seems to be getting called into question - I believe the post was titled "Help me slay the aerophagia monster."

And yes, my participation here to date has mostly been through several posts on batteries and DC power because I have some technical expertise in that arena.

I did not know lowly posters were allowed to delete threads or even posts.
I would like to know how as I have tried and failed to do so.
JPB

I was able to delete the body of my posts but not the post itself.

It is really unusual for any post to be left unanswered here. I'm sorry that happened.

A person can delete their own post as long as no one has posted anything after that post. Once someone has posted any sort of reply the delete option is no longer available except to whomever has the last post in a thread.

If that post is the lone post in a topic/thread then deleting that lone post will also delete the thread. So it is possible for a regular forum member to delete a thread if it is their thread that they started and no one replied. The delete option will still be available to the person in their forum editor....until a reply is made.

There is not an easy way for me to go back and check who deleted what without a lot of time consuming line by line review of the logs and quite honestly...I don't have the time right now. If I had a date to refer to it would go a little quicker but it's still time consuming.

If Hamguy515 did not get any comments....don't know why unless maybe there wasn't a clear question in it that anyone had any sort of answer for. I see threads that I don't reply to simply because I don't have an answer or nothing constructive to offer.
I also see threads where I can't see a question...maybe there was one there in the mind of the author but I don't see it...so I don't have anything to offer so I say nothing. I don't remember Hamguy's thread he is talking about....but we all know that my memory sucks anyway...  I probably saw it but either saw nothing I felt like was a question that I could answer or maybe just didn't have any sort of constructive answer....I have pretty much zero experience with aerophagia myself...so not a lot of personal experience to draw upon. I have had it bad only twice in nearly 10 years. I am not much help in that area. When I don't think I can help....I simply don't say much especially if I am busy doing something else.

Thank you for the reply to my question Pugsy. :D
That clears that up for me.

My memory is not something I brag about, but I do remember a post similar to that one though. Awhile back.
It can happen I'm sure.
Wish it didn't.
Life goes on.
Be happy. :)

For adult CPAP users, relieving CPAP-related aerophagia may involve reducing the intraesophageal pressure on the LES (eg, by elevating the head of the bed or by avoiding eating soon before bedtime); avoiding substances such as caffeine and nicotine that induce the relaxation of the LES;--http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/2010/10/aerophagia/

By the time a post sinks off the second page, it's unlikely someone will reply to it. I try to look at the second page a couple of times per week and "bump" anything that does not have a reply or an effective reply.

There are plenty of resources here about aerophagia. After 24 hours with no reply, you should always bump your post up. Responsibility not only applies to the helpers, but also to the ones needing help.

Are sure it wasn't posted more as a rant rather than a question? If so i could see why, I pass on most Rants, and I couldn't help except to point on to search the forum, it's been discussed to no end. I have never had the problem but once, in 14 years, and I have no idea why, probably something I ate set bad, and my pressure is at 15 cm.

In retrospect, I don't disagree that I probably needed to draw more attention to my post, however that's not at all in my nature. And yes, I did find a lot of good information here and elsewhere online related to aerophagia and how to deal with it... but I was also striking out in getting much relief and looking for any other advice. Anyway, onward from here... again, I did not intend to hijack this thread in this manner.

Yes, very sure it wasn't a rant... the post was laid out very specifically with a bit of background followed by what I had tried, what had helped and to what extent, and wrapped up asking for additional advice. It may simply have been that no one felt qualified to step in... I get that. Those who haven't experienced severe aerophagia are truly lucky, though - after several weeks of misery, I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy!

Anyway, as I posted elsewhere in this thread, I do appreciate the concerned responses and the community here in general. I have learned much through lurking, and hope to learn much more... and to be able to give back some of that knowledge when possible.
