Had a rattlesnake try to come in the door once when we lived out on acreage in the middle of nowhere. it helps me to keep my mouth closed and breath through my nose. i've made a few modifications on jay's system, customizing it, if you will, to suit my hard to close mouth!

We are dog sitting our neighbor's rat terrier and he decided to "kill" the already dead snake.

. It is super easy. I used single crochet on the short hose and I used a double crochet on the longer one. The longer one was easier because I googled how to do a tube so rather than doing it the long way and then crocheting it together I went in a circle right from the start. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AfA81x9x6Jo
