I wanted to see a thread with home made ideas with pictures for new users. Thinks like headgear/hose/mask covers. Ways to tape and scrunchi to keep air from leaking out, hose management systems and other useful tips and tricks. It always helps me to see a picture.

I will start. Here is how I keep my machine from sliding around on my nightstand (dog feeding mat in pink) and how I route the hose up and between pillows.

thanks for the link to the links!

unfortunately, THOSE have links to pics that are apparently no longer supported. :(

that's a shame because they may keep people from re-inventing the wheel. reckon we'll just have to soldier on from scratch.

We can blame that on the greed of certain image hosting sites.

I knit my own hose covers, they are super soft and I never get the medical feel of the hoses...

Well rats, the photo didn’t appear. I tried doing this on my iPad, which is what I used to take the picture; any advice?

any way to get that picture off of the ipad and onto a computer?

(mind you, i'm not pretending i KNOW anything, just asking.)

Since New Orleans is hot year round, a cervical collar, which would make me sweat, was not an option for me. (Many people find them very useful.)

And since I am claustrophobic and can't stand straps and things on or around my face, a chin strap wasn't an option, either. (Besides, they're hot, too! But there ARE people who find them very helpful.)

So I created my "brandy keg," a 4" diameter cylindrical piece of foam which I cut to about 4" long, and then, using an apple corer, bored a hole down the center of the length of the cylinder. I wrapped it in moisture-wick fabric, and cut a piece from an old mask strap and stick it through the hole. Strap goes around my neck, and I snug the "keg" up under my chin. It holds my mouth shut -- but I can shift it if I want a sip of water or something.

It has worked for me for almost 9 years.

For my P 10, I modified Dreamware strap covers from a cannoli shape to a taco shape. I picked out the stitches to remove one Velcro fastener from each cover, then sewed on one set of snaps. The folded edge is the one closer to my jaw; the open side is closer to my eyes. This makes the covers less thick, so they don’t press as hard on my cheekbones. You could remove the other piece of Velcro if you wanted even less bulk. I get either no marks on my face or faint marks that go away pretty quickly.
(My thanks to Zonker and Baby DS for the tech support. Now if only I could figure out why the photo rotates itself 180 degrees when I insert it!)

no doubt, someone will be along to educate us all.

But then all the popcorn will fall out....

Another little project was modifying the strap on my Dr. Dakota collar, which was hard to fasten tight enough. I opened the seam of the Velcro strap cover, then used a few stitches to tack the cover back in place.

Wow what mask do you use ? I have tried several and they all have leaks.

Do you have a picture of the hose hanger you have?
Airtouch F20. Has worked great for me, but the cushions don't last as well as they should,
3 weeks is about all the use I get before they tear around the rim.

Any moisture just makes it worse.

I'll try to get a picture of the hose hanger,, I tossed the box a while ago.

In the past month, I had 4 days with 1 liter leakage, and zero all other days.

Events were below 1.6 and as low as .4, one day was zero events.

That is awesome. I'm in Az where its hot all the time and wonder how people wear some of these things. That looks tolerable. :)
