I wanted to see a thread with home made ideas with pictures for new users. Thinks like headgear/hose/mask covers. Ways to tape and scrunchi to keep air from leaking out, hose management systems and other useful tips and tricks. It always helps me to see a picture.

I will start. Here is how I keep my machine from sliding around on my nightstand (dog feeding mat in pink) and how I route the hose up and between pillows.

any way to get that picture off of the ipad and onto a computer?

Since New Orleans is hot year round, a cervical collar, which would make me sweat, was not an option for me. (Many people find them very useful.)

And since I am claustrophobic and can't stand straps and things on or around my face, a chin strap wasn't an option, either. (Besides, they're hot, too! But there ARE people who find them very helpful.)

So I created my "brandy keg," a 4" diameter cylindrical piece of foam which I cut to about 4" long, and then, using an apple corer, bored a hole down the center of the length of the cylinder. I wrapped it in moisture-wick fabric, and cut a piece from an old mask strap and stick it through the hole. Strap goes around my neck, and I snug the "keg" up under my chin. It holds my mouth shut -- but I can shift it if I want a sip of water or something.

It has worked for me for almost 9 years.

I knit my own hose covers, they are super soft and I never get the medical feel of the hoses...

For my P 10, I modified Dreamware strap covers from a cannoli shape to a taco shape. I picked out the stitches to remove one Velcro fastener from each cover, then sewed on one set of snaps. The folded edge is the one closer to my jaw; the open side is closer to my eyes. This makes the covers less thick, so they don’t press as hard on my cheekbones. You could remove the other piece of Velcro if you wanted even less bulk. I get either no marks on my face or faint marks that go away pretty quickly.
