just my two cents worth, but i prefer xylimelts over biotene. i've found that biotene doesn't last as long and can be easily washed away if, like me, you are dumb enough to drink water afterwards.

as always, YMMV.
Thanks - I actually just saw those on a CPAP site and was wondering if they were any good. I'll keep those in mind too :)
I have been experiencing the same dry mouth (with the same full mask) and this information-and this thread-is exactly what i needed to see. Thanks for the tip, zonker!

I've used xylimelts and Biotene rinse. I just started using Biotene gel. Like gel best.

Well, we had some cold weather blow back in yesterday and the humidity tanked. I think I am going to have to give in and strap my face shut so I stop breathing through my mouth. I sleep pretty decent for the first half of the night, but once my mouth gets all glued up I just feel miserable. I've been using Biotene spray because it was readily available, but you're right it only helps for a pretty short period of time.

I'm also unsure why all these are showing as central apneas? I don't feel like that's the problem but maybe I'm missing something. I'm not using EPR. I zoomed in on one of them in the pic below and it looks like I can't move air either way or something to me?

Do all four of the reported centrals look like that one?

It looks like there might be a little bit of a spike right before it, so it may not be a "real" central. Something may have disturbed your sleep, causing you to sigh, cough, etc. If that's the case, then it could just be a sleep onset central, no biggie. On the other hand, that spike isn't that big, so I suppose it *could* be a real one.

Besides, you're not having enough of them to really bother with it anyway. Everyone experiences some, I wouldn't worry about those unless they're packed together and happen often.

This video explains how to moderately tell the difference between a real central and a "false" one. A real central can only be real when you're actually asleep, and when something wakes you up (but not to the point of formulating a memory of waking up), that may trigger a central event, except you're not actually asleep, so it doesn't count. Here's the vid:

But, I'm also not an expert, and I never stay at Holiday Inn Express, so take what I say as a grain of salt. I'm sure someone with more oomph will chime in soon.

They're showing up as centrals because you're not breathing, and the machine determined that your airway isn't blocked.
