I got an HC150 about 3 months ago and have not cleaned it and there is nothing swimming in it yet ... I only use distilled water in it though. I may rinse it out if I see something getting ready to evolve in there ... or maybe even just throw it away and replace it with one of my backup reservoirs since they are only about $13 each.
