I was going to refrain from posting anymore on this thread but I would like to adress several points that have been brought up by different people.

#1. Everything I say here I would say to your face. I feel that many of us here would do the same.

#2. I am a grey haired old lady. I am not offended by talk of sex toys in a drawer or anything else. I am an adult. I have grown kids. I know how the process works. Just because I am old does not mean I can't enjoy a good joke.

It seems to me the people here who are complaining about bullying are not us old folks.

#3 Pugsy has already said the rules are not going to change so why are we still arguing ? If someones hoo hoo's are hurt well grow up. I personaly don't give a rats behind if I've offended kitten sensibilities. Life is not pretty. And I think those of us in the grey haired crowd know that. We have not gotten to be grey haired by curling into a ball and hiding in our safe spaces.

Well said. I also was done with this thread, but saw that you had posted. I have seen some of your other posts and knew it would be worth it to come back one more time. It was. You rock lady!

Well Dog Slobber, you made an assertion that you only communicate with a sense of "civility" to contradict my earlier observation of "your communication style". And I only brought up "your communication style" because in an earlier post you decided "you were the guy to teach me how to communicate in a public forum!" (Perhaps you don't remember that... :?: ) - - And as I said, you are "absolutely the last guy who should be teaching anyone how to communicate on this forum!!! - - And then you suggested that I was wrong and to "re-read your post". Well, of course I did, and then decided to let the people on this forum be the judge if the crap you write in an "Open Thread Forum" is "as civil as you think".
My use of civil communication was in the context of this thread and to be more specific in the context of discussing our different opinions with dignity and respect towards each other. I believe your interpretation was to apply it to every communication I've made and apply the context of civil meaning polite.

No problem, I'll take responsibility for the miscommunication.

Btw, getting back to your crude posts, hahaha... your parody was very funny!!!
I wonder how funny it was to an 85 or 90 year-old lady???? Of course, that doesn't really concern you, does it?
I wouldn't classify the "crude" post as parody. I would classify it as Surreal, Wit-Wordplay, and Dark, but not Parody.

There was nothing "crude" in the parody attempt.

As I told the person I quoted "anonymously", I do not say anything in pm's or in Open Thread Discussions that I would worry about someone reading. I have nothing to hide nor do most of the people on this forum who happen to be nice, decent people. AND, as I said in reply to you earlier, the person I quoted "anonymously" not only gave me permission to use their quote on this thread, but they were "extremely happy" that I did because they have observed the bullying that has occured on this fourm for a long time.
I don't recall seeing anything about you claiming you posted their quote with their permission. Perhaps I missed it.

But you still don't seem to understand my point. I have nothing against posting quotes from private communication, while keeping their identity secret. It's the outing of them by sharing what they said and divulging who said it.

You're OK sharing what people say in private communication and sometimes without their permission. I'll accept that. And if you want to defend it with more adhominem, name calling and attacking me instead of the message, I'm good with that too.

You can even have the last word on it.

p.s. Just the other day Pugsy PMed me to tell me that she likes it when I post offensive jokes. *

* So as not to be accused of being hypocritical. This too is parody. You see, it would be hypocritical of me to share what Pugsy told me in confidence publicly when I earlier stated I wouldn't do such a thing. It's also hyperbole, not to be taken seriously. And it didn't happen.

We have lived long enough to know, life isn't all Kittens and Cream, it can be a hard road we don't plan on others pussyfooting around because we can't handle reality. We are Reality! Jim

Dog Slobber-

You said: "I have nothing against posting quotes from private communication, while keeping their identity secret. It's the outing of them by sharing what they said and divulging who said it."

I guess somehow you believe I said the name of the person I was quoting. - - I would never disclose someone's identity when quoting them here. I guess you merely misunderstood...?
I believe Dog Slobber is talking about your revealing that the “have a nice day” comment from Palerider is secret code for fu@k off which you admitted Palerider told you in a private message. I could be wrong though...!

Dog Slobber-

You can talk like you are in a bar with whomever you want; that's your choice! - - I can handle anything, so you're not going to offend me personally. But If you think that some elderly lady who's struggling with her sleep apena wants to hear you talking about measuring dicks and finding sex toys on a public health forum, you are more foolish than I thought!
Absolutely correct. What so many seem to forget is you never KNOW who stops here once,
and never posts OR even comes back.

Lack of moderation or even not having any standards puts off most people,
and just encourages the trolls and asshole.

I'm afraid you'll have to hand over all weapons, sign a waiver, and promise not to use any specialized training.

Ugh, that's like debating with one half of my brain tied behind my back, which incidentally, is also how we have to work most of the time.

Fine, fine, I'll take a handicap.

First of all I believe that in today’s world I follow a eye for a eye approach to things. Secondly cyber bullying or harassment of any kind whether it is online or in real life is wrong and is a serious crime and anyone doing it should be punished and removed permanently from the forums for life or until the administration seems enough time has past and things are good again.

I’m not a fighter either But you do gotta learn to stand up and fight for what you need. There’s a little word that I like to use called self advocacy.

You're absolutely right Tom!!! One needs to stand up for themselves...and sometimes, even stand up for someone else who's being bullied or harassed.

Only when that happens does the bully or harasser change their behavior!!!. - - If someone doesn't stand-up to them, the social misfits will forever continue to bully and harass unsuspecting victims! And whether the victims are women or men, that is very sad. :(
