All I ever do is change the filter once in a while and use mask wipes. I see no reason to wash the hose or do anything else.
SoClean etc is a scam. I've seen it turn people's mask cushion and other stuff yellow...no thanks
Ditto. That's all I do as well and I've never had any issues. I always use distilled water which probably helps (or at least doesn't hurt).
Same here. Mask wipes daily (okay, cheap baby wipes). Rinse out the tank every couple months, otherwise just top off. The travel machine gets dumped more often. I have only bothered to clean the hose once, and that was because I was getting sick repeatedly, and I wasn't sure why. I didn't know if it would help, but I knew it wouldn't hurt. I later figured out that I was having allergic reactions to a chemical spill in the van. I would get sick anytime I went on a weekend trip with that van. We deep cleaned it after that, and the problem did not return. I have also replaced the hose once. I still have the old one as a spare.

Being on an airplane rebreathing the same air for hours as 100 other people . . .
Gee, thanks! Going out of state in a few weeks... on a AIRPLANE!
Yer welcome! I'm always there for you like that, LH!

Using a used machine does not gross me out in the least.

Only 100? where'd you find such a tiny airplane?
Well, that was the largest private plane that I could afford to purchase for myself at the time.

Well, at least you know it won't be a Boing 737.

My medical supplies company that I receive all my CPAP stuff from keeps harassing me about getting that SoClean to the point where I dread having to talk to them each time I pick up supplies. I would move to another provider, but this is the supply company that works closely with my family physician. Any advice? My wipes and the occasional soap cleaning works just fine for me and my wife. no need for that expensive ozone unit, IMHO.

You are correct. Do they want you to buy it from them? Tell them you already got one.

Open the window so you won't have to breath all those germs.

Tell them "I wouldn't take that thing if you paid me to".

Excellent idea, and if you can't get the window open... open up one of the doors! insist on it. Don't take 'no!" for an answer.

I've already made certain that you were on the airplane watch list, and will be seated right next to the door with the handle a little on the loose side.

All right you two. Each of you stay on your side of the thread. Don't make me have to pull this forum over to the side of the road and then come back there.
