I will contact my DME to see what they figure might be happening to make my AHI still be so high.
Now
that sounds like a total waste of time.

What PR and Okie BiPap said....add me to agreeing with them. ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto hands down and I wouldn't accept anything less.
Actually bilevel is quite nice....if you like EPR...you will love bilevel.

More comfortable options than what you have now.

Well, yes, but it will have comedy value.
I'm just wondering what they will say. Especially since the Resmed app gave me a 99% score for last night, even WITH an 8.1 AHI

MyAir will ding you more for mask offs than it will for higher AHI....stupid IMHO...but they didn't ask me how to set it up.
It's all about cheerleading and badges.... and not actual effectiveness.

Which is part of why the app is useless

I am just having a concern. WHat is the max pressure on the Resmed Air Curve VAUTO? And what if it is not enough?

Max pressure is 25 cm on the VAuto....I feel it will be enough...you are close now.
If not...there are some machines that can go to 30 cm but they aren't auto adjusting...but if you need more than 25 it doesn't really need to auto adjust at that point.

Sometimes, all it takes is a *little* more pressure to stop events,
We've seen people that had massive problems at say 8, but at 9 or 10, smooth sailing.

OK. Here is the chart from last night.
I'm guessing I go up another notch.
It seems you are thinking of getting a bpap. Before I did that I would try a foam cervical collar and a flat pillow. To see if the high pressures are from positional apnea, chin tucking to chest and closing the airway.

I have been using the cervical collar, and moved off a flat pillow when the aerophagia morphed into acid reflux.
I don't want a Bipap, but 20 cm of pressure seems to be insufficient to prevent apnea.

Really, it's just best to put ajack on your foe list, click here:
ucp.php?i=zebra&mode=foes&add=ajack and just ignore his distractions. I mean, he's not *always* wrong, and sometimes he's *technically* right, but in such a way that confuses people, and distracts from effective help.

While waiting for my sleep test and subsequent appointment with the Physicians assistant, should I
1) Stay on CPAP with the attendant side effects
OR
2) Drop CPAP

I am not going to tell you to drop cpap....I feel some therapy is better than no therapy and if you have to reduce the settings a bit to avoid the issues you are having with the high pressures....I still think that reducing at least some of the apnea events is better than no reduction in events.
Your choice.....if you had significant desats during your sleep study...and go without cpap...that's extra stress and damage to the body from the return of the desats if you go without cpap.
Do you know how low your oxygen levels went or what your AHI was on the diagnostic sleep study?
Might be one thing if your AHI was low and you didn't have serious drops in oxygen levels...but if severe....some therapy is better than no therapy....IMHO

Thanks Pugsy - that is helpful
