She went away to check with someone - came back and switched my unit for a new one!! :D :D :D :D
okay, then! but please do come back and let us know if your new machine is better or not.
Did katestyles imply she was leaving???
Nope - still here.
I knew that, but I think zonk thought your were leaving, misinterpreting something your tech said...:D

Now I can get on with fixing my pressures.

Somehow I stupidly set the min pressure to 11 last night. I will change that back to 15 ish.

Just got the unofficial results of my sleep test; recommending 16cm straight CPAP with the rider that they did not see any supine REM sleep, so "APAP with close clinical follow up can be considered."

Finally got to grips with the bleep mask - look at that leak graph! So proud!
What I'd suggest is bring slurpyhead back up, and mouse along the pressure line, up on the title section of that chart, you'll see readouts of what the pressures are at the point of the green line... look at what the pressure is *just before* it spikes up.... you want to set your min just above the pressure where you have most of those pressure jumps.that'll give you the pressure needed to prevent them.

It helps if you actually ask a question, instead of just walking in, slapping down a couple pictures and saying "well?"

You sir really are special.
I think I'll defer to Kate's opinion, rather that yours.

I just don't have time to deal with fools.

cheers.

Have you liked it as much as everyone else? It was game changing for me. I got a neighbor to order it yesterday after I showed it to him. He's stoked about getting it.
I do love it. So does my hubby. I think he had to wake up several times last night to make sure I was still there - he is not used to the quiet.

just before which of the many spikes?

Pale!!!
Do you know how hard it was to type "slee..." into the searchbox instead of "slur....."?

See, on the pressure chart, where the pressure is going down, then it jumps up when you have an event, then it goes down again, only to jump back up? look at what pressures it is at at a few of those "just before it jumps back up"

What you're trying to do is say "well, it looks like I have a lot of the events around (for example) 13.6 pressure, I'll set the min to 14"

Make sense? I can sorta eyeball it but it's much easier to just mouse across and look at the number readout on the live program.

I understand about it being easier on the real slurpyhead. I guess I'm just a little hesitant on the "how much just before" bit. And the events are at all different pressures.

Then of course, your numbers are spookily accurate, so I don't want to go for 14cm, because that would seem like...like....doing what I'm told.........

They're not exact... but will give you an idea... and .. just before... like if you zoom in, you can see where an event start to happen, and what the pressure is at that point, and so you know "at this pressure, I'm having an event"... so, a little more pressure than that.

It's not a precise thing, it just gets you into the ballpark, so to speak. It's not precise, because there's so many variables... mostly you :)

If you don't to look like you are doing what you are told, go fro 13.4 or 13.6. Just enough below what was suggested to say I did it my way.

OK. Need encouragement.

I have been struggling with leaks - not from the bleep, but from my mouth. I tried a chin strap - it was not enough. I tried a hair band across my mouth - not enough.

I've been creeping the pressure up to try and get rid of the OAs

Here is last night.

I'm going to use my old full face mask tonight, just to see if I can get some uninterrupted sleep.

How can I help?
Did you take a night off last night and use your other mask?
Still fighting leaks with the Bleep?
Just still feeling bummed out and need a shoulder to cry on or with someone?

All of the above!
I did use the ff mask last night - I taped my mouth under the mask so my chin didn't drop back and create leaks. I havent yet seen my sleepy head, but I scored 100% on MyAir - It took me an hour to wake up. I will try the bleep again tonight with a taped mouth - the Mirage quatro I have pushes against my cheekbones and hurts. My skin is reacting to the cleaning - I was getting adhesive left on my nose so I got some goo gone topical, and then had to clean that off, and my skin just dried out....

I didnt get to sleep easily - I am kept awake by the pulsing of the air when I pause after exhale before inhale, which disturbs me. I am guessing that is a resmed thing - I don't remember it from my Respironics machine. I also hate trying to get to sleep when I cant read or play stupid games on my phone because I cant wear my glasses with the ff mask.

I was awake on and off during the night - I don't remember why I woke, or what time it was - I can't see the clock without my glasses. I kinda remember being awake for a while. My hubbyhead is out of town, so I don't have its reporting.

I ordered a new mask last night - I really dont know why - I guess grasping at straws - I looked at the F&P Forma and nearly hit the button, but then switched for the Quatro Fx so I can use my glasses.

I have been inching my pressure up, and I am now at 17-20, and wondering what happens if I get to a fixed 20.....I have an appointment with a PA at the sleep clinic on the 4th - I would like to get some good clear data that indicates whether I need more than 20. With all the leaking I don't feel I can be sure if the pressure is just chasing after leaks.

I am so glad I had the courage to return the first machine - I feel like all that bumping up against 20 was a fault. Certainly the breaks in recording the data was a fault. The new machine is not doing that.

I am also angry and frustrated about the whole way that OSA patients are treated - Charge them $3000 no matter what machine they get. Give them an APAP set to 4-20 and tell them come back in a year. Raise eyebrows at them if they change the setting so that they don't suffocate at 4. Charge them for another sleep test so that someone can tell them they need fixed 16cm of pressure, except they didnt get into REM sleep, so who knows what they need - come back in a year.

Thank goodness for you guys!

Is there an explanation for why the flow graph is "thinner" between 2:15 and 230? I mean, I "get" that my breaths were shallower.....
