Dunno what this is about so much, but I couldn't agree more.
then why are you commenting ... when you don't understand what is happening
when you take something out of context .... as I just did ... you change the meaning of it .

Jedimark is not punishing us due to PaleRider.
He just said "You, with your narcissistic soul-draining attitude nearly killed the project back then, and now, you, you ever-leaking pustule of vitriolic indecency, played a big part in my final decision to put an end to this project... "
No...that was Mark being dramatic. He had already squashed things long before Palerider said anything to him here in this thread to piss Mark off. There was a problem on another forum (that Palerider does not even post at) that started this whole mess along with a problem that came up between Mark and one of the guys who used to be a big part of Sleepyhead development.
Palerider hasn't been a part of Mark's development team for several years now and has had no contact with him other than what you see here in this thread.
PR is not the cause of Mark's meltdown and had nothing to do with what initially started all this current mess. It spilled over here from the other forum. The forum owner in the other forum locked the thread where all the fighting first started. So it came here...and is fast approaching enough nastiness to cause it to be considered for locking.
Discussion is one thing....even heated discussion...petty name calling is another. There's no need for the personal attacks on people here and for sure no need for petty name calling.

His assessment of "palerider" is universal, that was my point. It doesn't matter what is being discussed, the person behind the palerider account is a nasty person. It's clear regardless the topic.

How can it be petty name calling when it's true? I've seen enough of palerider's behavior over time to see it as being a realistic assessment of his/her personality and behavior. PR frequently sets a nasty tone on post after post, not just this one. I thought this forum was unmoderated. Has always been as long as I can remember since I joined. But then I don't come here much, mainly because of people like "palerider." Well whatever. I'm not investing anymore of my time and energy in it. Hope Mark and everyone has a good night. I've got better things to do, like sleep with my nice new machine.

Well...there is a new sheriff in town...please check your PMs. You got one from the new sheriff. We are indeed moderated here now.
To everyone.....going off topic to make this a "let's bash PR or whomever thread because they said something I didn't like"....and personal attacks repeatedly....don't go there. That is a no no in the terms of agreement here...remember "no personal attacks".
Just because someone says something we don't like or we don't like their "tone" or whatever....doesn't make it okay to start with the personal attacks. If it did I would be doing nothing but personal attacks all day because there is so much said here that I don't necessarily agree with and certainly by people I don't care for.
If PR and Mark want to duke it out...that's between those 2 and not for the rest of use to sit in as a jury. They are both big boys and fully able to fight their own battles. As long as there is no collateral damage I won't get in the way.

Getting close for sure.
I don't mind heated discussions about heated topics but this thread isn't about what we don't like about what someone says here on the forum.
If people can't refrain from petty name calling and personal attacks that are totally off topic...the maybe the sheriff needs to step in but I am giving you all one more chance to express your frustrations and/or talk about what you want to do.
Those of us who know Mark...know he threw a temper tantrum (and it wasn't first thrown here) and so he likes to blame others for his tantrums. So be it but Mark's tantrum and his axing of his servers had nothing to do at all with what was said to him by anyone here...PR was not the only person to tell Mark some stuff he didn't want to hear. He got an earful from a lot of different people here.
To target one person and start the personal bashing...and then keep at it...that's what got the sheriff riled up.
Keep it sort of on topic and quit the personal off topic attacks and I will let you all say your peace or duke it out to your hearts content.
When people are duking it out...we don't need commentaries from the audience and as long as there is no collateral damage people can duke it out as much as they want.
PS....besides...if I lock the thread someone will just start a new thread and keep at it. This way I only have one thread to watch for personal attacks from the audience.

I feel like I'm witnessing a slow moving train wreck. The vitriol this thread has devolved into serves nobody.
To JediMark, from the bottom of my heart I thank you for the countless hours you put into developing Sleepyhead. Sleep Apnea wrecked my son's health and Sleepyhead was key to dialing in his treatment. After watching both my son and mother struggle greatly learning to adapt to CPAP it doesn't surprise me to read the alarming statistics on the number of patients "fail" with CPAP therapy. Sleepyhead is ingenious and empowering!
To the many others who have contributed to CPAP Talk, Apnea Board, and the development of Sleepyhead I also thank you! I don't post often, but I have learned a tremendous amount from both forums.
I believe all parties involved are good people who's hearts are in the right places and are simply trying to help people.
I hope when the dust settles you will all look back on your efforts with pride, and hopefully someday damaged hearts and friendships may heal.

Just so you are aware, Mark is not totally absent.
After I posted the FB thread & other graphic, I got an email from Mark thanking me for doing that.
He is seeing those here that have been helped by his software.

+1 - totally agree. I'm not sure what is going on with this, but JediMark thank you for everything you put into SleepyHead - I've used it to help a number of new CPAP users, some of whom couldn't afford (or refused) to go through our inane health system.

Oh...I know. Remember the sheriff gets to see people here that other people can't always see.
I really pray that Mark can get his issues sorted out so that he can be a happy productive person in whatever he decides to do with his life.
My main concern here...as everyone here has always known....newbies to cpap therapy and helping them in the best way we can.
Until if/when Mark decides to do anything with anything....we deal with what we have now to help those newbies. That's all I can handle right now.

no, it isn't universal. you've tangled with palerider and that colors your perception. if you actually went through and read all of his posts, you'd realize that's not the case. there have been many, many times when he has helped people out, without having to result to insults.
he's not a mild milk toast kind of guy. he's a very good resource for information about most anything cpap related. could he be nicer? oh, hell yes! but in the end, what matters is that gets that information out, imho.
you are entitled to your own opinion. but please don't try to paint palerider as someone who is universally regarded as a nasty person.

Thank you Pugsy for all the time and effort you put into this group.
Thank you JediMark for Sleepyhead.
Because of the help I have received from everyone here, including Palerider, I have been able to guide a mother whose son has recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea. And I have convinced my mother to give it another try. She eventually quit using her machine because it didn't seem to make much difference.
Without this forum AND Sleepyhead (bugs and all) people I know have been helped. Ultimately that's what matters.
Praying for all of us. For healing, peace and good sleep.

Yes, SleepyHead has helped a huge number of people, around the world, and
one way or another, it or a derivative (or who knows, a new competitor) will continue to help people.
That's what it's really about, *helping people*, not one person's, or a few people's egos.
It's incredibly awesome that you've been able to 'pass it on', so to speak... and good luck with your mom.
