Rquest for Help - initial settings for one night apap test

My daughter-in-law wants to use my APAP for a night to see if OSA is a possible factor in her current fatigue. Her doctor is OK with it and would incorporate the Sleepyhead results into his evaluation.

I'm cool with lending her my APAP and a new hose and mask, but don't know what the best settings, exhale relief and ramp time should be used. I have a Phillips Respironics Dreamstation APAP with an Amara View mask. I'll be able to help her with mask fitting.

Any input is appreciated!

My personal opinion would be to set min at 5 and max at 12 to get her acclimated. Exhale relief 1 With a low min pressure, I don't think she will need ramp.
After you review sleepyhead foe a couple days you will see if there is a need for changes

Flex exhale relief won't even engage unless the pressure is at least 6 cm.

My suggestion is minimum of 6 cm and the Flex exhale relief set to whatever she feels more comfortable with...all the settings including off.

Max of 10 or 12 is fine for now. See where it wants to go first.

Thanks LSAT and Pugsy

I set up the APAP with 6-12 and exhale relief of 1. no ramp. My DIL said it was pretty comfortable, though she did take the mask off in her sleep after about five hours :)

Her AHI on Sleepyhead was just over 10, with no mask leaks.

I know it's not conclusive, but I think in conjunction with her other symptoms it was enough that her doctor is going to schedule a sleep study.

Thanks for your help!
