It sounds like
A. You have a machine without much data, and
B. The display is broken.

You can look at Secondwind.com for a better machine, or search for Greyghost and send him a PM. He often has very good used machines for very low prices. There's no point fixing the display on a machine that doesn't have sufficient data in the first place.

I don't give advice, I only tell of my experience.

I do relate to your problem. I hated using this thing, I would fight it, I would wake up at night wrapped up in the hose.
it was hard to get use to. It took me a month of use to be comfortable with it at night. I don;t like things on my face. But stick with it for a month and see if you are not sleeping better
What if it is 3 months later and still cannot sleep with it?
Try sleeping on a wood bord like it is the only bead you have except a cold wet stone floor. You will get used to it. Try to wear it before you go to bead.
Wow. You must have done time in the big house. Haha

The display got broken on a trip, frikken baggage handlers. Anyway, for now I can't adjust anything. I'll get it fixed asap.
A saline rinse is a good idea. Will try as needed.
The past 2 nights Ive been wearing the mask for a 2 or 3 hours before bed to get used to it. I wait til I'm really tired before going to bed and try to just relax. Ive been able to fall asleep with it on , but when I wake a few hours later to pee I cant get back to sleep with it on. Small success so far. Gotta start somewhere.

Yikes, you learned one of the rules the hard way. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER check your CPAP. It's carry on luggage and it doesn't count in your limit because it's medical equipment. If you dig around here you can find a copy of a tag you can print out that states it's medical equipment and quotes the federal regulation allowing you to bring it on board without counting in your carry-on limit. Don't let a baggage handler anywhere near your CPAP, ever.

You are making progress. Keep on keeping on. My first goal was to be able to sleep through the night with the mask on, and it took me three months of hard work to get there.

One of the reasons you may be needing to get up to pee is the sleep apnea. With OSA, we don't sleep as deeply and tend to be more easily awakened by pressure in the bladder. Once you are able to sleep longer with the mask on, you may find you need to get up less frequently to pee. Of course, if you have prostate issues, that may override this benefit.
Thanks. Im hoping that as I sleep more deeply I wont wake as easily for sure.
Im in Canada , not the States so your fed regulations arent relevant. Ill have to see what the law is here.

Again, I don;t know what kind of data youre referring to. What kind of data is really necessary??????

esel ... *I* LOVE this ~~~

I wish there were a thread of imagery suggestions.
(These imagery ideas could be used in an "ap"? A random game to play when you cannot sleep. Not that I know what an "ap" is :P )

Here's one at another point of the spectrum:

~~~you can hide at work in this amazing secret compartment but ventilation is poor :( but you have access to a CPAP which feeds you the sweetest filtered air. :) The only catch is you can rest and do not have to work but you cannot fall asleep. No napping, just lay there and rest, (you can close your eyes), but just concentrate on your breathing and how great you breath with the CPAP.
But no sleeping ... 8)
<you're getting very sleepy ~~~>
There is one good thing about the severity of my case. The idea of no being able to fall asleep either at the lab all wired up and/or with the mask was just unthinkable!
He has said at least a couple of times now that the machine's display is broken and therefore he cannot adjust anything. SMH. Why do people not read the whole thread ???
Why did YOU not read these parts ----------->
Also,getting a new machine at this time isnt an option- I dont have coverage for that and I dont have the money for it.
I'll get it fixed asap.
He has to pay to get the machine fixed. How much? We don't know. But honestly, he could probably find a used Resmed S9 autoset for $150-200 on craigslist which would be way better than the Airsense 10 cpap which won't give him much data other than usage.
To Harryo:
Useful data includes the ahi, total and by category. Different events are treated different ways.The graphs are also very useful. We can see how long the events are, if there are times with nothing and times with clusters of events, or if they happen consistently all night long. If the pressure variable, we can see what the pressure did. If it went up and down a lot (which can also cause problems for some people). We can see if it wanted to go higher but could not. We can see if it is dropping too low and should start at a higher pressure. And lots more. There is so much more to see than just a few stats on the screen. We use that information to make the machine more effective for therapy as well as more comfortable.
On Canada, I think some have used Kiji too. (similar to Craigslist)
I did and just laid there for 7.5 hours and did not sleep again.
You might want to try a board instead of a bead too. The board tends to be flatter. :roll:
here is an example of what folks are talking about regarding data-
screenshot-10-25-18.png
see all those squiggly lines in the colorful chart? those all mean something specific. and the experts here can easily glance at any chart and venture an opinion. they can tell how to tell, from your data, what needs to be changed to improve your particular therapy.
please bear in mind that each of us is different. (it gets worse. individually, we don't each sleep the same each night.) so your chart, filled with your data, will look different than this.
also, please bear in mind that *I* am not proficient in reading even my own chart. so whenever i have a question, i take a fresh screenshot of my sleepyhead charts and upload them here. what i'm saying is, i'm pretty much relying on the experts here myself.
much is this is explained here-
viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html
btw, did you ever get your cracked screen fixed or the machine replaced? because none of this means bupkiss if you can't get to the data.
good luck!
