It's nice to know that even if it would be inappropriate i'm not the only one who wants to stand up in public and denounce the "So-Clean" commercials as unadulterated scaremongering crap.
I don't think denouncing unadulterated scaremongering crap should be inappropriate, ever.
Well I was more thinking if I were for example to clime up on top of the bar in the restaurant and "Excuse me! May I have your attention please?! I'd like to talk to you all about the following abnoxtios commercials we've been subjected to for the last hour or so..."

I might need to rethink my approach but ya... I get genuinely pissed when I see a so-clean commercial come on and use some of the oddly worded terms that I know uneducated cpap users will hear and start freaking out thinking they have to buy the product to save them selvs from some over dramatized boggy man. Just makes me sick.
I'm right there with ya.

I love my soClean "sanitizer", love the smell of ozone...I love that it smells & feels like putting on a new mask every night. However, I did not purchase it with my own money. I received a gift card that was generous enough to purchase the machine & an extra filter kit. Time will tell if I continue to purchase filter kits and if the machine breaks, I am going to be reluctant to spend my own money on a new one. I still use CPAP wipes to wash my cushion daily, & wash my entire mask, hose, & water tank in soap & water at least once a week. I agree that if you don't actually CLEAN your equipment with soap & water or wipes on a regular basis, you will be sanitizing snot & slobber. Some people think it's worth it, and I only think it's worth it right now because I didn't pay for it. If you are the type of person that hates cleaning your equipment manually, this machine with the combination of wipes would be perfect for you.

It comes up often, and it's a reasonable question. There is absolutely nothing bad about presenting the question to the forum.

Kudos to those posters here who treat the OP with respect, and do not just shunt the question to previous threads.

The Soclean product is based on some deceit. That said, the commercials are convincing; and, It is perfectly acceptable to ask the opinions of others here (and it is not acceptable to arrogantly dismiss those new posters who might inquire.)

As long as you realize a couple of facts: Ozone is bad for your lungs. (ever heard of an Ozone Action Day?. Second, any "feel" that you have when you put on the mask is purely psychological. Ozone won't make the mask 'feel better', nor will it clean the mask in any way whatsoever.

You've tricked yourself into thinking that the soclean is good. If that makes you happy, .... But, it is a trick.

No, because it doesn't clean anything. Just using wipes will do just as much good.

This is the saddest part. People use this machine thinking that ozone is such a wonderful gas. A tiny bit of research beforehand would tell you that it is very caustic and can be harmful. If you're still smelling the gas when you use your machine/mask, that means you haven't let it dissipate. It is very harmful to your lungs and can actually do you more harm than good.
I hear people claim "Since I've started using SoClean, I haven't had any kind of lung infection, etc." Well, I've never used one and can say the same thing so that point is probably not valid.

I have to give credit to the SoClean manufacturer. Introducing a product like this at a time when everyone has become a germaphobe was brilliant. As you wipe down the handle to your shopping cart with a "sanitizing" wipe and proceed into the store and touch the things that you buy without "sanitizing" them.

I remember the yearly rancher rituals.
Since the bull calves were not all the same size, so was the "prize".
The meek could try one of the tinys before going for a mongo.
Deep lard frying in batter is the best preparation.
An excellent breakfast with eggs and dinner plate size pancakes.
IHOP never offered such delectables.

. . . brain . . .
I would gladly trade mine in for one with a working regulator and filter.

Speaking of which, no one seems to be regulating what SoClean is allowed to say in its commercials, so I am left to filter out for myself what channels I watch. One SoClean commercial gets a channel deleted. It's helped to cut down on my TV time. A sort of TV foe button.

I'd say something about the FTC, but they're all sitting at home wondering how they're going to pay their bills right now.

I wash my mask with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap. I love the smell and it makes me VERY happy. On the rare occasion I have to use dish soap or baby shampoo I always feel a twinge of disappointment and can't wait to get back "minty clean" again. I love mint and citrus smells the best.

Scent is very primitive and psychological and personal ... and clearly suggestible! I've heard people say that ozone smells like "the freshness of a lightening strike". LOL   :P

I'm super sensitive to scents that I don't like and that includes most perfumes and colognes. For example, "musk, vanilla, or rose", all popular scents that many people love are total turn offs for me. I'm not a fan of cigarette smoke but I find some perfumes to be equally as offensive.

When I was younger I was a real pain in the ass about scents, but life and tragedy and suffering have mellowed me out a lot and I just can't work up real "re*scent"ment" for the minor things that irk me in life the way I used to ~~~

Ooh I never thought to use my dr bronners on my mask. I've been using dawn. What a great idea!
