AIRFIT P10
...Resmed p20..., the p20 ... p20 ...
If you're going to go on a rant, you could *at least* try and get the names right.

The P10 vents are AWESOME . . . There is nothing quieter.
I am not a clean freak, but I do not mind doing what is needed.
A water flosser (messy) or a denture tablet (minty) will do the trick.
Repeated for those who missed it earlier . . .
LOL...for those that missed it earlier, humidity (not how clean the vents are) can have a dramatic impact on function (meaning you feel like you are not getting enough air due to elevation of C02). Peace out.

Good point.
I have had condensation catch in the exhaust vents, and had to dry the mask to allow good flow.
Perhaps a pillow cozy might help, because washout is engineered to lower CO2 to acceptable levels.
Again, turning down the humidity is always an option, but is not likely to affect carbon dioxide content
unless the vents are being clogged by condensed water.
Two years of college chemistry, so I'm confident of my answer.

I agree with most of your statements despite your two years of college chemistry. :P

Frankly, I'm just glad you didn't get accidentally dissected in any of your biology classes.

Good one, buddy.
But I only took biology in high school--those kids were easy to outrun/hop.

I periodically have a similar problem with my P10--the pressure feels too low and I don't seem to get enough air--the more deeply I breathe, the more claustrophobic it feels. In my case, it's the inside of the pillows that is very wet, not the vents. Running a tissue around the cavity to dry it out fixes the problem for me.

Well, I had five years of college chemistry (inorganic, organic, physical, biochemistry and molecular)..but none of that is relevant here :D :D :D

The bottom line is that if my wife turns on the bedroom humidifier, I can have problems breathing if using the mask. The issue is not that the vents are dirty. I will note that occasionally, our fire alarm goes off (it can be triggered by high humidity) but that is how humid my wife likes the room...and you know what they say, happy wife = happy life (and I switch to another mask). Don't know (yet) if the new vent design fixes the humidity issue. Cheers.

You don't list your equipment, but presumably you have a CPAP machine with a humidifier?

On the days that your wife cranks up the bedroom humidifier, you probably want to turn off the water heater on your CPAP machine. This results in "pass over" humidification, just air running over the water in the tank, but no extra heating of the water. Maybe that will solve your condensation problem?

Or maybe just remove your humidifier entirely during winter???

Great suggestions SnoringInOregon. Thanks. Note that I encountered the problem with two machines (Resmed Airsense 10 Auto and an Intellipap Auto) with or without the use of the machine's humidifier. Was how I knew the problem was with the mask and not a machine issue.

Probably by wintertime, I'll own a Resmed mini and have the new version of the P10 mask (the air diffuser is smooth to the touch, in contrast to the version I have where it has a slightly raised sandpaper-like feel). I'll post my results, adding it to this thread and let folks who might be interested know if using the new mask when the room has high humidity due to use of a room humidifier causes any breathing issues.
Best,
Richard

If you are referring to a P10 mask that was supplied wit the AirMini, it has no exhaust and diffuser at all! It is specifically designed to work only with the AirMini humidification approach.

Bill,
You are correct. Thank you for correcting me. I'd seen my brother's mask but not the set up in it's entirety (with the mini).

Have used the P 10 since introduced. Have used it with the S9 and the A10. Never have had a vent problem. Never. I use heated tubing. Recently I started using the P30i in the colder months but go back to the minimalist P10 in warmer weather. Have never paid special attention to the filter.
