I have never had to tie mine down and I use a towel....but I guess I am not nearly as rough on things as you are.

I can't tell but is there a drawer in that table? If so maybe put the machine in the drawer so it can't go anywhere with tossing and turning and pulling on the hose stuff.

Towels do make things slippery sometimes and I understand the not wanting to mess up the finish.
How about something less slippery but still protect the top of the table.
I was thinking along the lines of something a bit rubbery with a grip....I have something like that under the dog/cat bowls to keep the water splashing to a minimum since I have hardwood floors. Plus it has a little lip on it in case the bowl gets turned over and lots of water pours out. It contains the water if a big spill occurs.
Or maybe do that and the bungee tie downs.

Similar to Pugsy's drawer idea, if your drawer doesn't open open you can buy CPAP nightstands. Google CPAP night stands.

I keep my device on a decorative wooden serving tray.

This removes the slippery towel, protects the finish and the tray's lip can prevent the machine from sliding off.

That towel looks like a bad idea to me. I have the same ResMed machine you have and it has rubber stoppers on the bottom of it that keep it from sliding. You are defeating that by using a towel. I've been using mine for 2.5 years and it has not done any damage to my nightstand. (If I do happen to spill some drops of water while filling up humidifier I mop up immediately). Good luck.

If you can find them, large mouse pads work great under the machines. I have placed one under each of our machines. Even though they sit inside of a night stand, the mouse pad prevents them from moving around.

I'd suggest you get some sort of hose management set up, tie the hose to that, and let it absorb your pulling instead of the machine itself.

Well its an antique mid century modern drexler nightstand. That has been handed down in my family.....

Couldn't find large mouse pads but found the pet mat. Its a little big but grips well. Going to see if I can find a smaller one somewhere.

Not sure on hose management yet. I understand they come 12 ft hoses. I may look into that and some sort of management system in the future.

Maybe an under sink mat? I was thinking the Cont-Tact one we actually have under our kitchen sink but this other one seems like it would have more grip. Home Depot has the Cont-tact one in stock and probably has others if you actually want to look at them. Either of these two you can cut to size.

Does hour headboard have any sort of hole or post or anything you could thread the hose through? If so... get a long strip of self sticking soft velcro. Run the hose through your head board with about 4 or 5 inches of slack so you can comfortably connect and disconnect the hose from your machine but no more then that. The rest of the slack is for you on the other side of the hose from where its attached. If you pull on the hose the worse thing that happens is you damage the hose you dont wreck the pap by pulling it off the night stand.

That looks good. At night, I would rotate the machine 90 degrees so the hose attachment is next to the side of the bed. That gives you a bit more effective hose length and might help reduce hose pulling on the mask.

In generic terms:

Make sure to use good hose management - the hose should not pull on the mask. Notice how your hose is positioned between machine and mask. It should be positioned to minimize any pull on the mask. Hose management is an individual practice. How it is done depends on the mask, the position of the machine, your sleeping position and other factors specific to the individual.

As far as hose hangers and other such devices, many like them. I don't. I learned to manage the hose without a hose hanger. What do you do when you travel? If you use a hose hanger, it's one more thing to carry along.

Good point on the hose hangers, thanks for bringing that up. Not that I travel much other than to see my kids. Which I usually do a couple times a year. My mask has the hose on top of the head. I am used to moving my pillow around with me and I think its getting hooked on that. My husband always says to quit throwing my pillow on him.
