Transcend Auto mini - painful to use on low pressure

Hello! I am hoping someone here can help me.

I have to machines (and one older one as backup).
The Resmed is amazing, I have both a full face mask and nasal pillows (Swift FX). I use the nasal pillows unless allergies or a cold has me to congested. Seetings on Resmed are:
  • Pressure: 10-12 (average 10.5-11)
  • Auto
  • No Ramp
I also bought a Transcend auto awhile back for traveling, but have always ended up using my main machine (not so easy if you are trying to travel light). The main problem is that it seems no matter what I set it at, it seems to cause me a great deal of pain, mainly in the lungs. I have tried different pressures, from 10-12 to 6-12, or 6-10. I have also tried plain cpap mode at 10. I have tried setting EZEX to 1,2,3 doesn't seem to make much difference. Is this just a matter of adjustment? Should I try even lower? I actually end up with a headache after testing for a few minutes. I did try brining it in to a Pulmnologist, but tbh they were not much help.

Are you using EPR exhale relief on the ResMed? If so, at what setting?

I have a suspicion that the discomfort you are feeling is because the Transcend exhale relief isn't as much of a relief as the EPR is.
When this happens the body/chest wall muscles have to work a little harder to exhale...and when our muscles work harder doing something they aren't used to then they get sore.
The chest wall muscle discomfort is similar to costochondritis discomfort. Have you ever had that?

Hi, I suppose that would make sense. I do have EPR on my Resmed. It is set to full-time, at 2.

Is it possible that I would get used to the smaller machine after time? Should I still be using the same pressure or lower it you think?
