Don't forget to file a formal complaint for the damage due to negligence.
My sister works for the airline and has already initiated the process.

It wasn’t only this. Surreal travel experience! Security. Airline. Bumped from flight despite disability.

Update: I'm home. New machine is fabulous. Had I been traveling in Ontario there would have been no quick save in this situation. Absolutely nothing happens without a prescription and turtle-speed proper channels.

The original bag had a broken zipper for this unit; the company gave me another bag which, in the future, has extra space and will double as a carry on. Paranoid, I stuffed a business class pillow in it for the trip home. Got a lecture from security in Denver about not taking it out of the bag; once I explained the Toronto situation they were super nice lol.

It looks like insurance will continue to cover my filters given the reason for the switcheroo.

Now I just have to figure out how to pay for the thing

It's great because my new legit machine will happen January/February, and I have a back up now. If I can figure out how to fix the damaged one, I'll be able to gift it to someone.

Thanks all for you support!

Update:

I came home with two machines - defunct one and 2016 Dream Station Auto BiPap. I refused to take them out for security in Denver, and once I explained, they understood

CATSCA has not got back to me, but already revealed to my sister (flight attendant) that they pulled the videos of the "incident" and believe that they were at fault, but that I should have had the machine fixed (and mask etc.).

SHouldn't be a problem because that's what I tried to do and the business said not possible without sending away, and I needed to breathe that night.

Being up for 22 hours straight then only getting 2 hours sleep that night absolutely destroyed my circadian rhythm which is ALMOST recovered now   . Conference was a bit of a blur, but amazing.

I was treated very well all the way home

I have no interest in following up with complaint (denial, so busy at work, moving on) but have to drum up some interest fast. I see sleep neuro in a couple of weeks to get my new prescription.

IN a perfect world, by February or March, I will have both a new machine, the right type, covered by ADP, plus an excellent backup, paid for by CATSCA.

I really appreciate everyone's suggestions while I was in Denver!!! thank you for the moral support and ideas <3.

We'll see
