Linda, one of the things I've wondered about is the adaptive intelligence behind spam-bots. Back when cpaptalk was being deluged with spam, I'd find myself deleting one post after another, non-stop, just as you did recently. It seemed as if the spammer was monitoring and reposting. As soon as I'd delete one post, another would show up, as if the spam-bot was squatting on this forum for a while to ensure that it maintained a post here.
I've not heard anyone say definitively whether spam-bots are adaptively programmed this way, but I've never seen the board filled up at one time with twenty or thirty spam postings either. In some ways spammers are like infections; it's not in their best interests to kill the host, they just want to come along for a free ride.
