Sorry, I am rather new to CPAP. The heading mentions AirMini. What is a “normal CPAP tube?” And how do I connect the mask that came with my AirMini to this Qtube? Thanks!
I'm new too and am having EXACTLY the same issue! I have my Qtube and the adapter, but we're scratching our heads as to how to connect the mask's tubing.
Sorry but I haven't checked this thread lately. Hopefully, the picture below could help you with how everything is connected together.
I tried to replicate this set-up but can’t figure out what the small piece is that connects directly to the Airmini? Does anyone know?

Take a picture of the
small piece you're referring to.

This thread would be an excellent resource to read PRIOR to buying an AirMini.
Can't say nobody WARNED you!

This is an old thread. If you want to use an AirMini with any mask, you can now purchase an inexpensive adapter that attaches to the AirMini and lets you use any standard hose. Google Amazon for "airmini hose connector".
I use my AirMini often ( with the AirMini tubing ) and love it. Since switching to a P10 from a FFM, I'm not bothered by any significant noise, and this is often in a tent where the machine is next to my head. Or maybe I'm going deaf, or just got used to it, but works for me

The ZephAir universal hose adapter allows any mask to be worn with the AirMini.
I sleep with a HEPA air purifier running across the room, I don't hear a sound from the CPAP.

I’m looking for item #3 from this post. Can anybody help me locate it? I have the air mini connected to the qlite with the adapter but I need #3 to connect the P10 to the qlite. Thank you!

Anyone else with success taming the noise on Airmini? So far, I also feel like I've wasted $1700 canadian on a badly designed machine that was not tested for noise at all.
So far, started with Airmini P10 mask at home to test it before travelling, it's terribly noisy and as others have mentioned, this noise comes from the breathing vents of the humidix connector. My pressure is not super high, it's 4 - 7. I don't care about humidity right now so bought a universal adapter to try the regular non-mini P10 mask and tubing expecting the noise to be reduced but as far as I can tell it actually got worse because now the inhale/exhale noise comes right from the non-mini P10 mask which is right on the face, and the machine itself also got noisier.
Not sure what the next step would be. I don't see the muffler helping because the sound is coming from the mask vents not as a result of any vibrations at the hose or machine. I can possibly try the Brevida mask which some claim has less noisy venting. Beyond that, the only other thing that might help would be to hack a way to keep the original mini tubing and mask but somehow through additional adapter and tubing push the humix vents closer to the machine and away from ears....

THIS WORKED TO SIGNIFCANTLY REDUCE THE NOISE COMING FROM THE AREA OF MY MASK CONNECTOR WHILE USING THE AIR MINI. MY PROJECT COST WAS $70 + multiple shipping fees.
1 x Q-Lite In-Line CPAP Muffler By Breas ($20 + shipping)
1 x Air Mini CPAP Tubing Connector Adapter (I purchased the new version WQ22New available at respshop.com for $13 + shipping)
1 x Universal CPAP Tubing – 6 feet ($10 + shipping)
You need an elbow piece to connect your universal CPAP tubing to your mask. For me, that’s the ResMed F20 QuietAir Elbow ($27 + shipping).
In order, you attach the connector adapter to the Air Mini. Then you connect the short tubing that came with the Q-Lite. Then you attach the Q-Lite. Then you attach your long tubing. Finally you attach the elbow connector and your mask.
You will not be able to use heated tubing with the Q-Lite. Your tubing must have a rubber gasket at both ends.

Hello, I'm a new guy on the block. I have gained a vast amount of information these past few weeks reading the threads about the Resmed AirMini cpap and accesories.
I'm in search of someone to 3d print a female hose connector to connect to the bottom of the HME Mini housing. A male version of the connector has already been created in one of the previous threads. <img src="
download/file.php?id=1626" alt="IMG_20180722_181650.jpg"/>
The female version should look like this only with its base being able to connect to a standard size hose: <img src="

The male connector was 3d printed by digitaldog888 in 2018 :

I learned a lot from this thread lengthy though it is.
I also found the air mini set up very noisy.
I have found a satisfactory solution based on some proposed on this thread
I discarded the entire proprietary Air mini hose and humidex system as the noise seems to be coming from the humidex housing and I found no way to adapt it. Can’t believe Resmed hasn’t fixed this. Anyway here is my fix:
You need to buy ( in the order you connect to the air mini machine)
1) An adaptor that connects to the air mini machine and allows you to then use “standard” connections and hoses. There appear to be several on the market. I bought the Snugel one. You don’t need a three D printer ( though I understand this may have been needed before people started marketing them)
2) the z1 muffler. There seems to have been some debate about this, I found it did make a difference, I got the second generation version which is very simple.
3) a 6 foot length of “standard”CPAP tube
4) a generic HME filter with blue sponge in it.. if you search on Amazon for “ 10 Pack Bundle HDM Heat/Moisture Exchanger (HME) Inline Humidification Solution Unit for CPAP Masks” you will find it. I tried sleeping without the Hme unit. It was doable but less comfortable.
5) a “standard mask… not the air mini ones
If you stick all these together , you will have a system that seems to me to be an order of magnitude quieter than the humidex system. It’s not silent but quite bearable.
Good luck

I ventured, I gained

I was able to machine some existing CPAP connectors so that they could be permanently attached to the HumidX HME housing. Now I'm able to use the standard hose that fits most CPAP machines. See what they look like via the link:

During the course of experimenting I was able to determine what might be the REAL cause of the Darth Vader sounds coming from the HME Housing. Tomorrow I'll try to post some photos at another link for you to see the probable cause.
