The muffler from Amzn and the adapter - both non-controversially overpriced.
The muffler DOES NOT DO ANYTHING. At best - it is a breading ground for bacteria. I used engineering lab instrumentation to measure noise difference with and without the muffler. There is NO DIFFERENCE to write home about. It certainly does not muffle AirMini suction air intake sound, and it does not muffle any mask noise. So what noise does it muffle? NONE.
The construction of the muffler has no engineering characteristics of a muffler. It might have some influence on "hose" noise - but if it does it - it is withing the noise measurement error. Not worth any money.
The adapter - has no slots and it is rigid. Beware that it damages the built in blue seal of AirMini and its diameters are not accurately fitting. Do not take it in and out too often. It is really overpriced.

I can't specifically comment about the impact of Q-Tube on the AirMini, but I have a Z2. It makes a dramatic difference on the noise level in the tube and in the mask on my Z2 Auto. Of course the muffler has no direct impact on the machine noise.
As far as breeding ground for bacteria? There is not any humidifier prior to the Q Tube, and exhaled air would have minimal if any effect. I've disassembled the Q-Tube, and there is never any indication of moisture in it. Of course it benefits from an occasional cleaning, and you can replace the insert.

I recently purchased an AirMini recently with the P10 mask. My usual daily machine is a Dreamstation with a Dreamwear mask.

I found the P10 mask uncomfortable, being forced into my nostrils and the hose dangling from my face like an elephant trunk. It was also noiser than I was used to.
So after investigation, I found on this forum the 3D printer adapter (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3049870) that would allow me to connect any hose/mask to the AirMini.
After getting the adapter I connected my Dreamwear mask to my AirMini I was disapointed to find that noise was very high, to the point that it made it difficult to sleep with the setup.
I ordered a QTube muffler to try to quiet things down. It does help some. Still much noiser than the Dreamstation/Dreamwear combination and even noiser than the P10 mask.

I created sound files to analyze the differences. I used an Iphone 11 about 12 inches from my face using the voice memo app. I then loaded the files up into Audacity to visually see the data.

I am still not completely happy

Most DEAF apnea sufferers can endorse the AirMini.
The rest of us--YMMV.

So I just bought an Airmini with a F20 (I use a F20 with a Airsense 10 at home).
The machine is very quiet but when I put the mask on my face and I breath there is an horrible noise of Dark Vador.
So (thank to digitaldog888) I printed the connector and I've tryed to use the machine with my regular F20 mask (with the quiet connector), but the noise is the same.
I also tryed to add a Q-Tube, the noise is reduced a little bit (it's especially muffled) but it's still too loudly. It's hard to fall asleep but I can, but in the night when the pressure is higher it wake me up and I can't fall asleep again.
I'm desperate with this machine. I think I threw $1000 out the window...

Just wanted to say thanks to this board, I've finally got my Airmini working at a reasonable noise level. Like many of you, I was deeply frustrated by the 'darth vader' noise that came from the AirMini mask. The unit is actually very quiet but the air rushing sound, right near my face was horrible. I bothered both me and my wife. Falling asleep was not an option.

I bought the tube converter from ThingVerse (there is a premade one on amazon but untested). I also got the QTube and I can attach my existing AirSense 10 mask to it with a bit of tape. The combination of of the QTube + AIrSense 10 mask makes a large difference. It's still noisier but much better and I can sleep with it now. To be honest, I'd say 75% is just the AirSense 10 mask and the QTube is just a 25% improvement.

I hope we can all continue to tinker with this and make improvements. If anything changes on my end, I'll be sure to post any updates.
