Sorry, but as a water quality guy, Naegleria fowleri is a bullshit answer. The pathogen needs to be forced into the nasal passage with enough pressure to directly connect with the nerves in the olfactory system. It's killed by all water treatment plants that are functioning as prescribed. While almost universally fatal, it is rare and has no evidence of aerosol transmission. The rate of infection is about 1 in 7 billion exposures. Quit your uneducated and blatantly false scaremongering. Idiot
Thank you. Everything is hazardous indeed.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:10 amThank you. Everything is hazardous. Relative risk must always be considered.
In the link you provided, there is no mention of CPAP.Doug_Nightmare wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:20 amhttps://www.cdc.gov/parasites/naegleria ... siana.html
Ergo, your dribble about "sterile water" is stupid... since by the time water shows up in your local store, it's not sterile.Doug_Nightmare wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:20 amDistilled water IS sterile but its subsequent process equipment, ‘bottles’, may not be. Only water certified as for intravenous use may be considered sterile.
The CDC site is HUUGE. https://www.cdc.gov/legionella/wmp/over ... pread.htmlChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 9:09 amIn the link you provided, there is no mention of CPAP. If you want to live in fear, don't let me get in your way.
You're SO desperate to spread your bullshit, you're grasping at any broken straw you can find.Doug_Nightmare wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 10:16 amThe CDC site is HUUGE. https://www.cdc.gov/legionella/wmp/over ... pread.htmlChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 9:09 amIn the link you provided, there is no mention of CPAP. I'd like to see you cite one case of Legionella from CPAP. There are two cases ( https://www.sleep-journal.com/article/S ... 1/abstract ) of an association. Associations prove nothing. The infections could have come from dozens of places.
Legionella was mentioned in the context of aerosolization, which some here deny occurs in convection humidifiers used in CPAP; with a CDC citation.Midnight Strangler wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 11:25 amI'd like to see you cite one case of Legionella from CPAP.
You're an ignorant, feaongering fool, trying to scare people. And not welcome as a result. Your attempts to scare people will be called out and refuted.Doug_Nightmare wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 12:09 pmBlah blah blahMidnight Strangler wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 11:25 amI'd like to see you cite one case of Legionella from CPAP.
