The stupid often need correction so they will not HURT someone.
There is a lot of mean, spiteful, petty, degrading bullying here. Its just not necessary. Yes there is also good advice. I am not thin skinned, but it doesn't mean I appreciate people being jerks for no reason...and yes, its happened MANY times completely unprovoked and out of line. It is a shame because this could be a fantastic place for people to learn and get help with their sleep therapy if it weren't for all the b.s.
If you don't like it here, then go to Apneabored..er, apneaboard.

It's run by moderators that think they know way more than they actually do... People are free to spout whatever misleading garbage they want, because their *feelings* are more important than whether or not they're misleading people, or wasting their time.

It's so far away from here that you can't even type 'cpaptalk.com', it's on the list of dirty words in the forum.

It's the wonderful b.s. free place you seem to dream of.

You think PR is exaggerating but it is true.
They know so much over there they do not even use a security certificate on their website to encrypt your login information. Be sure to not reuse any password for that site.
They claim they are secure without encrypting traffic.

And everywhere. This is a very public forum that is very lightly moderated by design. It means that being here requires that we all engage our own filters instead of expecting moderators and owners to do that for us. It isn't always pleasant, but it allows the free flow of information that other forums disallow.

I have no authority in this forum, and I prefer it that way. Nevertheless, as a fellow forum member, I would like to apologize if anything anyone has posted here has offended you.

Perhaps the best way to be a force for good here is to try to make exemplary posts yourself--not posts drawing added attention to what bothers you but posts treating people with dignity and acceptance in a way that outnumbers the less than dignifying and less than accepting posts.

Just a thought. Feel free to ignore it or disagree.
