Just took a look at a family member who has a nose ring. She doesn't have sleep apnea but I don't think there is any reason she wouldn't be able to use a mask if she had to. She tried mine on (P10) and it was fine. She said that during the 3 month healing process that maybe you would be a bit uncomfortable, and you might want to wait until after that period of time.

Don't they make a little stud with a flat back to prevent
a "snot fountain" if one needs to blow their nose.
