Whooops! I'm not familiar w/the conversion rate between AUS $$ and US $$ but 850 ANY $$$ is one mell of a whole lotta hoolah! I'd be willing to bet this ResLink isn't anything I've gotta worry about then. I mean it would be nice if "I" could access that data too but I think we, he and I, can just be satisified w/my little ole SPO 7500 and if he needs or wants to coordinate the sats and events he or his staff can figger out how to do it, cause "ain't" no way I'm willingly given up access to my nightly data. Its too interesting and something I look forward to checking each morning. It was ONLY the promise that my software and reader to allow me that access were on their way that kept me compliant those first 30+ days on PAP therapy.

My thoughts too Slinky, though it would be nice.

btw $850 AUD = $657.05 US at todays rates.

Me too

I paid (in $US) under $100 for my Ohmeda 4700 PO & that was a lot less than the reslink no matter how nicely it integrates.

I am waiting for the day when the PO is built into an xPAP machine. I even have a design for integrating a PO probe into a face mask. In some tests I have done I found I could get accurate readings on SpO2 from my forehead but because it is such an unconventional way to do this I haven't followed through with the idea. It needs a lot of testing to see if it is consistent. I had noticed that with some masks, the pads at the top will lift off the forehead when breathing in on a bilevel machine. That would mean my idea has problems.

I bought a lot of 25 disposal nellcor probes to do tests but have so many projects going, this one has slid to one side.

Re Reslink
The Reslink module has been around for years. IIRC there was an early version that went with the S6 & Sullivan II range. It works with all the S7 S8 & Vpaps that record nightly data. It can have a data card in the newer versions. It basically takes the existing nightly data and adds a few more inputs such as the pulse & SpO2.

The resulting chart as shown in AutoScan is what I would love to be able to have but not at the reslink price. PS it works with ResScan 5.4 for S7 & 5.7 for S8.

I didn't know that it was recommended that I replace the cushion every 6 months. I bought the mask because I switched models from the ultra mirage to the activa. Now I'll order a new cushion every 6 months.

Hey, DSM, if you EVER need someone to beta test that forehead pulse ox you just let me know and let me in at the very head of the line!!!! You are such an innovative guy.

Carolos, actually if you have a mask that's been working good for you and then starts leaking a little more and more, like I said, Medicare will reimburse for a new cushion every 30 days, and a new mask sans headgear every 3 months so there may be times when your leak rate suggests that you get a new cushion or mask sans headgear in just 3 months. You just have to kind of play it by ear. But at least these are some guidelines to be aware of should your leak rate start going up for no apparent reason.

Thanks, Peter, for the conversion. $675 is still a motta of loolah. *sigh* I'm missing the SuperBowl (football) so I'm off to the family room, fireplace and TV. Chicago drew first blood right off the bat!!! Yeah, Bears!

Carlos -

A new cusion every 6 months is not neccessary ... just replace as needed.

Now you may want to always have at least one backup cusion in case your primary one rips or for whatever reason you can no longer use it. Then you order a new backup.

Thanks fot the tip, I'll go ahead and order an extra cushion. Once I was in Cuba and the hose broke off just below the hose connector, I had to make do with a knife and some masking tape that I had. I panicked at the thought of not having my CPAP working..
