I hate to see student start out with a straight CPAP machine with no Sleepyhead data. He hasn't been titrated. This sounds like a recipe for failure and developing a hate of CPAP.
What would you do? Set it for 10.0 pressure and cross your fingers?
I guess the question is whether a straight CPAP machine is worse than no CPAP given the situation.

I love my automatic that I've had since mid-2016. However, I did fine from 1999 until then with plain old CPAP (seventeen years).
Of course, I was properly titrated in August and re-titrated in September of the same year (no insurance would cover that now).

RTS in Newfoundland is having a sale in until May 30 (15% off all CPAP masks and CPAP accessories). Not sure about machines.

Kijiji in Montreal has a posting for Philips System One Remstar Auto A Flex asking for $250. Should be Sleephead compatible....can someone who has this unit confirm?
Alternative is to check Facebook Marketplace for your area.
