Many organizations' publicly stated mission statements have proven to be
in direct contradiction to their actions. Note the schools that still tolerate bullying.

I haven't been around in a while so there may be more than I know about this but it seems to me like they are at least trying and making an effort to do good for CPAP users.
That should be worth something. Maybe not, but if we are always skeptical and negative, we miss the good things that come around.
There's a LOT of detrimental and sometimes harmful "advice" that gets posted by ignorant people who think they are just "trying and making an effort to do good for CPAP users."

It's only by being skeptical that one avoids being suckered into the latest scam,

Kinda like the way bands may need the music industry, but they still can't let themselves get suckered in by it or its reps.

Perhaps the Psychedelic Furs said it best:

My major concern is we do not want to associate too closely with people that either may be the Dream Police or look for ammunition for their cause.
If we don't associate with them, how will we ever convince them there is a better way?
That is a difficult, risky question.

We do not want to give them ammunition to further restrict our rights to adjust our treatment either.

I assure you we have no such desire. One of our role models and pioneers are the #WeareNOTWaiting diabetes community. We are not who you think we are. We are also big fans of Jedi Marks SleepyHead opensource platform.

IIRC, Jedi Mark was banned from the old ASAA forum for daring to suggest people help themselves.

That's the kind of unfortunate history that makes it harder to convince people of your new motives.

Whoever those people were, they are not here now.

If the ASAA and the Jedi were actually to join forces, I might buy a ticket to THAT movie myself; the fight scene in front of the throne would alone be worth the price of admission.

Ascribing to a frog's most reliable survival tactic, I will be safely concealed.
My legs are too yummy-looking for me to trust strangers.

Is there any particular reason you chose to post this at dinner time? I guess we could add frogs legs to the menu... ;)

Tune in next week to find out whether Princess Pugsy will assemble her rebel cpaptalk forces to continue the fight against the Emperor ResMed alliance as Jedi Mark decides whether to accept funding from Kylo Ren's newly reformed ASAA while finishing the new codes to hack into the data from the Emperor's machines that keep us all alive.

May the Flow be with you, one and all.

Meanwhile, back at the rebel base . . .
