American Home Patient was bought out by Lincare. I was with American Home Patient and now I'm with Lincare and they definitely suck.

Not a fan of Lincare and yes they are rude and incompetent. All they want to do is the sales part of their job and not the customer service. They must be based in S. Florida. :p (former S FL resident of 30 years, where the customer service *anywhere* is at the very best, bad.)

Lincare was one of the first that I called to order my CPAP. First time user, needed to meet with the person to get my CPAP. I called 3 times and was told they would need to have their person call me to schedule this and she was very busy and it would be at least 2 weeks for her to call me. That was in Jan. I have since contacted another DME and have been on CPAP for 3 months. Lincare has never called me.

Pretty sad isn't it. You aren't missing anything but the headaches.
It's no wonder that when I drove by the place where LinCare had its local office (and I fired them before ever taking delivery of the machine that they ordered for me without even telling me...and it was a brick...and they said it was full data...so they got fired)...
they are no longer there and a Pizza parlor is now in that office space. Have no idea where they went to and don't care. They didn't just moved...they closed up shop. I wouldn't buy a filter from them if they were the last place on earth...I would go make my own first.

Lincare is not bad but it does seem to not know what it’s doing at times. It’s what I have.

Lincare does really suck...my mother-in-law gets oxygen equipment (concentrators, tanks, etc.) via Lincare, and they have done little other than to delay their deliveries and forget their commitments. There's no way that I'd want to be involved with them, other than advocating for my mother-in-law, which I've had to do several times when Lincare "lost track" of what they've agreed to do.

I'm really sorry that she's gotten involved with them...it was through her pulmonologist, who steers people to Lincare. Too bad about that.

There may be other options in the area that the pulmonologist also works with. I just changed my CPAP supply DME from Lincare to Roberts, for instance.

When a DOCTOR directs patients to an incompetent or unwilling provider,
he shares liability in the event of a bad health outcome.
Perhaps the doctor should be reminded of this . . .

My doctor just asked me which of the two. I know nothing about wither but knew of Lincare from seeing their signage.

For the sadly misinformed. Lincare has always been crappy. Lincare signed an agreement to buy american homepatient on Dec. 7, 2015, before Trump even became president. Trump had nothing to do with it< nice try though. When lincare took over, all AHP acoounts were turned over to Lincare. Health Care Solutions is another DBA address that lincare was using to confuse people.

Note: even though the national chains are well known for taking advantage of patients,
the same thing can happen with a local mom-n-pop. It is a dirty, cutthroat business.
We do as much advance prep as if we are making any major purchase. Trust no one.

Absolutely spot on.... I was with apria til i learned how the game is played. then i went to american home patient and was happy til they sold out to lincare. i dropped lincare after the first conversation with them. i then went to a local mom and pop. they are as crooked as all the rest, but the difference is that they can be controlled. when i ordered my new machine, they pointed to the respironics machine. i said i wanted the resmed. i called my doctor's nurse. she took care of it. next morning my resmed was ready to pick up. they found out that i'm not the average uneducated newbie and will get what i want. I know their game and will not trust them. It's really no different than doing business with any other business.

My trick at this point for dealing with "ALL DMEs, With stupid people working at the local branch" is to find out who's doing the actual shipping. Get with who ever your DME is - and ask them about checking on the status or mention there is something you need to ask about your order... Sometimes they'll mention something about the "Warehouse" or "the shipping facility" you jump on that like a dog with a bone, get that number and then you never "EVER" call the local branch again. You go directly to the shipping warehouse "Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. etc..."

I've had major issues with Arocare, Freedom Respiratory, "Health First" (HAHAHAHAHAHAH, LLOOOOLLLSSSSS), and now my latest is WestEnd Health.

I actually came out of the WestEnd Health appointment feeling pretty good about my chances - until I never heard back from them - then I got a robo call were I asked to be called back and once again didn't get a call back. When I called the local branch I couldn't even leave a voice mail because they hadn't checked it in so long the inbox was full and that was it. Once again I waited and kept calling until I got the number for the shipping center - I mentioned this strategy to the nice lady I got on the phone at the warehouse and she laughed knowingly and agreed with me. If I had any problems or needed anything to just call them back directly and not to bother with the local branch.

I think maybe it's a conspiracy (not) that most of the local branches are run by nit wits or people that don't know that you have to move product and provide competent support to stay in business. were the shipping centers just "SHIP", you make sure they have the right equipment in your order and that's it. Your good.

If you know what you want... just go directly to the shipping center, if you need help or need to try new equipment. You're going to need to shop around for a better DME or you might just be SOL. I wish you all the best of luck with your re-ordering adventures in DME Supplies land.

Sorry about my outburst when I mentioned "Health First"... You'd understand if you had to deal with them....
If you look up Irony in Websters there's a picture of Their company in the caption.... :P

Rest well.
