I hadn't ever thought of lemon juice. I just used vinegar/water solution.
Lemons smell so much better than vinegar though.

I don't know how strong the lemon juice might be but just use bottled lemon juice (no need to be fresh squeezed as it will take way too many lemons) and make a solution about half water and half lemon juice ...maybe about a half a cup (or whatever you have that equals a cup in the UK) and slosh it around for a bit and let it sit and see if it removes wherever you are seeing the mineral build up.
Might try rubbing the area a bit with your fingers or some sort of soft abrasive type of pad. Not steel wool though.
If half and half doesn't do the trick...try straight up lemon juice.
Won't hurt anything and you will rinse it all out anyway. Just don't use anything harsh to scrub with because you don't want to scratch the inside of the chamber. Most of the time just a little sitting in a solution will dissolve the minerals enough so they can be easily wiped away.

So if you have lemon juice in the fridge...give it a try or the vinegar as others have mentioned. Either should work well.

I didn't think the UK was a third world country, but like the U.S.A. it's getting closer every day. After making hot tea for a few hundreds of years, you would think they had mastered the art of Lime or Calcium buildup.

In the beginning of my XPAP, IU used Distilled Water, and still washed out the HH tank just to be sure. The bottom of the tank was removable, just pressed on, 4th time it cracked the tank, I got a new tank, never cleaned it again, still works 12 years later, same as day one. Cleaning lesson learned! Less is better!

We have a product here in the U.S.A., called Real Lemon and maybe one called Real Lime also, they are a concentrate of lemon or lime in a bottle used to make drinks. They keep well in the Fridge. Not as good for drinks as the real thing but would be great for cleaning a HH, and health safe.

My coments about the ability to read and follow direction was aimed more at our U.S. followers, they seem to have the problem, despite cheap Distilled Water, maybe they are drinking it, and missing needed minerals in their diet. Jim

Yes, I "remember". Pages and pages of lemons. And, Kipster got it... so maybe the end of lemons?

I use reverse osmosis for my drinking water and my Humidifier.
Every year or so I replace the water chamber. then I run the old one through the dishwasher and put it away incase I some how don't have a new one when I want one.

I have noticed that my old S9 water chamber looked new after a year and a half, but the PR System 1 starts to get funky after a few months.

Vinegar? Lemon? Cleaning? Wasting water? Why?
