And, as per that article, so did Tom Arnold.

What the Hell does that have to do with ANYTHING?
Actors and "celebrities" have the same problems that the rest of the people do......sometimes in more serious degrees.
They "preach" to the rest of us, but in reality, they're (in many cases) even more screwed up. Money doesn't necessarily solve problems but may actually exacerbate them.

He's playing a character who uses a CPAP machine. That doesn't mean he uses one...

And, it doesn't mean he DOESN'T. Give it a rest!
Personally, I'm betting he DOES use one in his personal life.
Happy Easter.

Dan has one of those magic TV CPAP machines that makes no noise whatsoever. i wish I could find one of those.
Maybe you're doing something wrong, resmeds are very quiet.
My DreamStation is also very quiet (provided the humidifier is attached) despite that my pressure setting is a min of 13.5 (which is relatively high). It's not absolutely silent, but that's not possible as the air venting out of the mask will make some noise.
Nobody asked you, and that's not a dreamstation sitting on the side table in the tv show.

Real or fake, I think it's pretty cool. Folks need to see that it's not so uncommon. Who knows, maybe they didn't know anything about what that is and the condition that caused it. Knowing me, I'd get curious and ask google what the hell it was!
LOVED the show then, and now but not sure how I feel about the grandson and possibly getting beat up...times are a changing... I'll adapt- just as I did to this lovely machine.
