When I found the Holy Grail, the cup was pack full of mask liners, but I didn't need any, so I left them in it. Next time I checked, someone had taken it. Bummer, I thought it was safe there!LSAT wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 9:24 amBetter pack a lunch....JWalsh wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 7:53 amNot in my opinion. I've tried them too. They wrinkle, move and are just a plain annoyance like all the others out there. I'm going into the think tank and I won't come out until I have, like I said, the "Holy Grail" of liners. I'm a very motivated person and when something gets under my skin for as long as this has there's no stopping me when it come to solving the issue, which I feel many of us here on this forum share.![]()
Real mechanics don't use adjustable wrenches, they are for Hack Mechanics, and DTY. Pros use real tools, we like our knuckles, and our nuts not rounded. The are fine for DTY Mechanics, then a real mechanic can extract and repair their job.JWalsh wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:04 amExactly what I said is the absolute truth. I've had enough of being uncomfortable and tired every day because there's nothing out there to make wearing my ResMed Escape CPAP machine with a size medium mask more comfortable. I don't think I've had a string of 2 or 3 consecutive full nights sleep since I began using my CPAP machine and I'm getting too old to have to put up with the frustration of it all. So I decided to get out there and see what kind of experiences others are having and go from there in creating a new liner that will help me, you and everyone else who cares about being comfortable and getting to sleep all night every night. If I create a liner that helps you is that a bad thing to build a business from? If you find a product that fixes a problem like for instance a single adjustable wrench that can tighten or loosen all sizes of nuts, would you be upset about that and stick with the entire rack of wrenches on your wall? If it's too much of a problem then what is this forum for? I thought it was here for people to reach out and find what helps from others who have had experiences in the CPAP world. I know I am. I work in the construction field and have no ties to any corporate companies or whatever, I'm a guy with a passion about fixing this problem that a lot of people are having, including myself.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:16 amJoined today, promoting your business . . .
Using an Escape after ten years of cpap use.
Uh, weird, man, weird.

Thank you for that. I really appreciate your insight here. I'm in the process of filing for my patent application now. The search was good, there's nothing like my product on the market or in the patent process as we speak so I'm hoping it's accepted. I will do as you've suggested and contact the forum sponsor when the time is right.carolyngoodman wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 3:39 pmHowdy,
I am going to let the OP's post stand.
@Forum, if you want to fill out his survey and give your information, that is your individual call. As with any link, do so at your own risk.
@JWalsh, a few points:
1) I think it is great you are trying to think of ways to improve therapy. Many great products have come from trying to solve a therapy issues: PadACheek, SnuggleHose, PureSleep, HoseHolder, etc.
2) You raised flags on the forum due to asking the personal info up front and posting a link to your survey in two different threads. What has gone over better in the past with other people trying to work on new products is to do an initial survey without requiring their personal info, and if people don't respond, just let that survey go. This helps you build credibility with the forum. Also, I haven't clicked on your survey, however if you haven't, I suggest you include a disclaimer on what they are agreeing to be sent to their email in the future, and have an opt out option in later communication in order to comply with CAN-SPAM regulations. As a note, the best products we have found started by the creator focusing on trying to solve their own problem first, then getting feedback on that option.
3) Before starting a go fund me account, I really suggest you do some preliminary patent searches in this space. Unfortunately, it is pretty locked down.
4) Looking towards the positive, if you get through all that and you have a protype that is viable, the forum sponsor would be interested in reviewing it. We have helped other products come to market.
The facts so far:
I hear you, it's been constantly money down the drain for me. I have a drawer full of different liners I bought that were all pure nonsense and just ended up frustrating me further. I have several creams in there too that did nothing for me as well. I remember the sticker shock I had the day I went in to buy my ResMed Escape machine, $1800 (CDN) or something along those lines and it has never stopped, new buffer, new head gear, liners, tubes. It's been pricey for sure.
