I never suggested that something being frequently recommended must be correct. Nor do I care if anyone else believes it or washes their anything.
My point was that given that "forum veterans" are well aware that something is frequently recommended, it is disingenuous for them to act like a "forum newbie" invented the idea out of thin air for no reason.
Nobody is suggesting you, or some other newbie, is inventing things out of thin air, simply that
THEIR experience has indicated that those 'frequently recommended' things are a waste of time.
You're the one that's making it a big thumping deal.

Hardly.

Case in point.
With that, I am done here. There is nothing to gain in this discussion.

These plastics are not as popular as they once were.
The most common effect is cosmetic--surface yellowing.
Structural strength takes a considerably longer time.
(((Exceptions are often dyed dark colors.)))
Thrift shops are full of ugly yellow plastic things that used to be pretty white.
Perfectly usable, but icky to look at.

Lots of unnecessary things, and many stupid ones, are "frequently recommended".
it's "frequently recommended" that you don't change your own pressures.
it's "frequently recommended" that you don't bother looking at your data.
it's "frequently recommended" that you only buy machines from your local DME at whatever ridiculous markup that they charge.
it's "frequently recommended" that you throw away perfectly good supplies and buy more *on their schedule* which just happens to be the minimum times that insurance will fork over for more stuff (funny, that).
it's "frequently recommended" you just blindly trust your doctor to care about you.
Anybody else? other "frequently recommended" bs, not necessarily about cpap?
It's "frequently recommended" not to be obnoxious and rude, particularly to newbies. Obviously Palerider is going for the "XXYZX Memorial Award."

Don't let a resident A**HOLE drive you off. One bad one was exiled a while ago, maybe the folks in charge can do the same with Palerider.

"newbies" that are advertising their own competing forum in every post.
The world is better of without your playing mother hen. Go find another egg to sit in.

Welp....I take a few years off and come back to find that not much has changed around here. lol
I have always been a hose washer. Do what works for YOU. I don't mind replacing a hose from time to time. It is the cheapest part of the whole system. Really not a big deal if it gives you some peace of mind or makes you more comfortable.

That's correct. There is still a lot of snark here.
Thanks for adding to it.

You are welcome. Anytime.
Although I didnt see anything particularly snarky about what I said. If you want snark I will be happy to bring it.

You speak the truth. That would be the filters. Though......the hoses are next in line.

It can ALL be considered inexpensive, when compared to flowers,
a service, a plot, a vault, and a box--all rather costly,
but well worth putting off as long as possible.
