Yes, I do move around at every opportunity. But I used to wake up probably 20-30 times per night and so would change positions a lot. Now, when my AHI is low (like the last 2 nights), I only wake up a handful of times through the night, which means I'm in each particular position a lot longer than I used to be. So that is what is causing the back pain, I believe. Too long in the same position, which I'm not used to.
Regarding the pillow, yes, I sleep on my side 99% of the time and I put a pillow between my knees. When I wake up, I switch to the other side and then back to the original side when I wake up again. I'm not 100% sure that the pillow I'm using between my knees is the right size/thickness, so that's a thought. And I have an adjustable bed (air) and i've thought of experimenting with letting some air out to see if that would help.
Unfortunately with the back pain, after about 6 hours of sleep (really good sleep when my AHI is low, fortunately), my back hurts so much I sometimes have a tough time going back to sleep for a while and other times can't at all. But then within an hour of waking up and walking, my back is fine all day, for the most part.
