The Resmed allows you to set the time according to where you are - just like setting the time on a number of devices like microwaves, etc. You might like to check the time setting on your Resmed to see that it's correct. If the machine was sourced from the US this might be part of the problem but I don't really think so.

The Resmed sets 24L as it's base line for leaks. Anything over that is usually flagged.

What we need to work out is what has changed that would affect your therapy. The obvious candidate is the machine and the strange hour numbers might suggest that this is the issue. Once you post Sleepyhead charts this will become evident. (Pugsy and I have been down this road before). It's a pity that we can't see data from the loan machine. The original settings might not be what you have now.

Finally, as a fellow Aussie, I didn't know that Chemists in WA hire out machines. I'm in QLD and they don't do it here from what I can gather. To set up your machine he/she would have needed the recommendations (read prescription) that came out of whatever sleep study and titration you did. Do you have the results of those? They could also help us to help you.

I went with the logical solution, tested the pressure on my new machine - all fine. Then I re-hired the previous machine I used (when I felt good) so that I could double check if the reason I'm feeling tired is because of my new machine, but same result. Still tired.

So, I am now thinking the reason for me not sleeping well is possibly psychological? I do have some immediate stresses in my life, nothing serious, but enough to stay on my mind each day. How much of an impact can stress have on sleep? Is it possible that these issues are causing me to wake un-refreshed?

And, in advance, any natural remedies I could try before bed so that my mind relaxes and I get a decent sleep?

Don't assume psych... but do get your blood checked (routine stuff), your sugar, your hormones, maybe cardio, etc. AND unfortunately, if you've gained even a little wt (10 lbs) it can make a difference. Be careful with alternative meds, but e.g. chamomile tea and Valerian can make you sleepy if you have insomnia. Maybe meditation?
