Well, in the past, Mom and Dad, understandably so, sometimes seemed a little too busy with work to do much to keep this a safe haven for all of us kids. You are the fun, wise aunt who has thankfully been given full babysitting authority, and your presence and example, just by your being the nonjudgmental fair-minded person you are, has made all the difference in setting the right tone, in my opinion.

So, you may think of yourself as not doing much to make the difference, but from where I sit, my knowing that you are here taking a stand as a voice of reason has made all the difference for my feeling comfortable posting here again, myself. So I stand by my giving you much of the thanks for the present state of affairs around here.

Well said - I just never could acclimate myself to having someone keeping a record of my comings and goings nor in having them as arbiters of who I could have visit.

That's *REALLY* funny coming from someone who's posted that he wanted all the content on the board to be suitable for his 8 year old niece to read.

The the next post (from a moderator) puts down the OP for even asking the question... and I thought apneaboard was supposed to be the "safe place" on the internet... unless they don't like you.

I now have reason #47 for my choosing NEVER to "grow up."

As for . . .
Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
. . . I have five questions:

1. When is the match to take place?
2. What sport will the match be?
3. How much are the tickets?
4. What is the Vegas point spread?
5. Is Tom Brady a member of either forum?

I'm with you on that.

4. Why doesn't Jason and freecpapadvice.com/forum get any love?

It's a smaller, quieter place, that's sort of a possibly happy medium between here and apneaboard's heavyhanded straightjacket faux "safe place" moderation. (me? opinion?)

Sorry about my adding more questions above, PR.

It's the one form of self-editing I do.

Why? Your posts are usually sane, unlike some others.

I consider sanity to be highly overrated, so it has never made it into my list of top ten objectives.

And, for the record, I personally have nothing against Apneabored; I just prefer my collars unstarched.

If I had a bad problem and didn't have a good doctor and sleep studies available, I think I would take it to Jason, before going to the other members there and the wider forums. there is also a sleep tech forum that I can't find at the moment to put up a link, I think I got it from here is anyone remembers it?
ShinRyoku wrote: For example, there is a strong push there for someone with CSA to be put on ASV to the point where it is prematurely suggested that a doctor is clueless or ill meaning when they don't go straight to prescribing ASV. Other myths which seem to be prevalent there are that clusters of OAs are always due to chin tucking or that ResMed devices are simply more effective than Respironics ones.
We don't know what we don't know, but we all tend to think we do, it's a human trait. It is a good thing to keep at the front of our minds. The people who try to help others on the forums have a sincere wish to help and not lead people astray.

Pressure induced CA can take up to 12 weeks to resolve. If they are just the co2/o2 balance, an o2 meter can take the worry away. In an ideal world, an eccogram and a loan asv for 3 months would be given to the bad cases. To see if they are one of the ones that settles down and they move to bpap or cpap.

Clusters aren't always chin tucking, but a collar is an easy way to find out if a bent neck is obstructing the air way, then move on from there. It is still surprising to me, how effective it is at sorting out what's what.

resmed is a more aggressive algorithm and the respironics does under treat and needs a closer pressure to the 95%. they can both be titrated to work as effectively as each other, but they may not have the same min pressure. This study shows a few machines, of them all I'd say F&P icon has the more even, effective algorithm .

I see far fewer nonsensical arguments around here these days. It was pretty annoying and just plain made a person feel bad when reading all that bs. Whatever happened was for the better, it turned this place into a great forum.
