should I buy the soclean sanitizing system for my Bipap

hello I was thinking about purchasing the soclean sanitizing system for my bipap machine but the thing I worry about is the ozone it produces to clean with, does it create a lot of ozone where it can be harmful to my health or does it create just enough ozone to clean the mask and my bi-pap unit where it would not be harmful to my health in any way shape for form. I also see that there is a soclean 2 go which is a lot less $$$ also i heard that the ozone can breakdown the bi-paps internal parts such as the motor I also have the hurricane drier

I am going to give you my most unbiased position on this.
First off every on here is going to tell you no in lots of different ways lol.
There is a schedule somewhere that tells you how often you need to clean and how often you need to sterilize. Those are two completely different things. I will give soclean the benefit of the doubt in sterilizing your equipment assuming it's clean.
So if you still need to clean your equipment then sterilizing isn't much more effort and IMO not worth the cost. If you were willing to spend that money then I recommend buying the hurricane drier . That way you can try everything within an hour instead of hanging it up all day.

I have nothing but disgust for SoClean and their scare tactic advertising.
It baffles me why the company officers have not been incarcerated.
The only possible explanation has to be BRIBERY.

Save your money. You can buy alot of Dawn dishwashing liquid for whatever they're selling the machines for. According to the manual, you still have to wash or clean the mask before putting it in the machine. So, why exert even more effort when it's unnecessary? The only thing it "cleans" is your bank account.
If you still have questions, feel free to read the previous discussions.

Once you clean, you can then sanitize. However, cleaning comes first.
Ozone can sanitize and the SoClean seems to use a concentration and exposure time of ozone that it can sanitize. If you are immune compromised, this could help your situation.
Ozone is an oxidizer. Oxidation can have an influence on your mask and hose, however at the concentrations used and the time involved it seems that the degradation due to oxidation is limited.
If your immune system is not compromised...
If your grandchildren are not playing with your mask...
If your pets are not licking or peeing on your mask...
If your house is not plagued with mold or mildew...
You may be better off with a general cleaning and not have to worry about sanitizing.

It'll clean and sanitize your wallet. Period. Use your money for real and important things... SC is NOT one of those!

I was about to say the same thing Julie did about it cleaning your wallet out.

There are some members of the forum who have the machine and swear by it while most who do not have it swear at it. Personally, I think it is a waste of money. Even if it does sterilize the equipment, as soon as you touch the equipment, put it on, and start up the CPAP machine, you have immediately covered it with the germs on your body and have sucked any germs that may be in the room into the machine. If you have a compromised immune system, it may be worth the cost. For most people, it is a waste of money.

You know last night after watching the TV commercial for the SoClean I was just about rolling in the floor LMAO with one of the statements from one of the happy campers.
"I sleep better knowing that I am breathing sanitized air"....
duh...unless they are breathing the air with the ozone flowing (which I don't think is a particularly safe thing to do and assuming it actually kills anything) just where do they think they are getting sanitized air. I mean it's the same air coming into the machine and going up the hose to the face as the air they are breathing without cpap.

As I mentioned before, you still need to "CLEAN" your germs from your equipment before you use the device.

Page 8
1. Pre-washing your PAP Equipment
Use two capfuls of the included pre-wash
with a gallon of water to wash your PAP
equipment (mask, hose, and reservoir), then
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Note:
The SoClean 2 uses no fluids in its
operation. The pre-wash is supplied for
hand washing your PAP equipment only.
DO NOT immerse your SoClean in water.

Then, purchasing the replacement parts and supplies (per their recommended schedule) really adds to the cost, too.

No thanks! I've got better things to do with MY money than to waste it that way.

And some people swear by their chiropractors!
I would not touch one with a 10 foot pole.
Maybe a 40 foot rope, though.
