The test the refer to was conducted by placing contaminated filter papers in various places in the cpap system, operating the soclean device, then checking the filter papers. What I find interesting is they never actually test a used cpap mask, hose, or machine for germs that requires sterilization. It may sterilize the mask, but as soon as you pick it up and put it on your face, you immediately introduce germs back on the mask. If you are worried about moisture in the equipment causing mold, get a cpap dryer which costs much less than the soclean machine.

It's funny (SAD), the FDA makes a script for buying XPAPs and MASKs necessary, but allows companies line SO CLEAN to hawk their mis-labeled over priced machines, to do a job thats not needed, with no proof it does what they say.

But that's what I expect from the FDA, they did a fine job allowing defective De-Fib Leads being installed in me, without recall... Jim

I do not worry about getting diseases from my machine at night. It's all these other people walking around on my planet during the daytime that I have to watch out for. And none of them will agree to shrink themselves down to be put inside a disinfectant chamber--at least, none that I've asked to do so.

Anyone who uses SoClean on his equipment then goes out to eat in a restaurant during flu season is operating on a different level of understanding than I. Maybe he is wrong. Maybe I am wrong. But we should all be welcome here in the same forum where it is very, very difficult to catch anything from anybody, from what I understand.

I make fun of the product. But I understand why some use it. And I understand why it may make them feel better. So if they want one and can afford it, good for them. That's what this economy is built on. Sometimes planned obsolescence is virtually immediate.

Most of us know we shouldn't really ever believe ad copy, especially on the TV. If we start believing that stuff, we will end up going broke buying a lot more stuff than just SoClean.

So true. I am very leery of any of the products that get advertised on late night TV, or that tries to make me afraid about something.

There are many ways to get ripped off buying produces, the So Clean way, buying a product that's not needed and doesn't work, or like NuWave Pro Inversion cooker, a fine product that works well, like the ad says, price not too bad, but shipping and handling applied to each part of the added purchase, pushing the total to the roof. BTW: Don't let your wife drop a 2 cup Pirex cup on one, it's not pretty. I still love it, still got two, bad thing takes separate power, cooks fast draws lots of amps, but way less than the stove. Kills germs on pans too. Jim

Love my Copper Chef type, it's induction ready, only 2 bad things, it's a little light weight in the induction baseplate and thin metal build.

I use it as a deep fryer for French Fries/ in lard. Fry Daddy burned the oil in two uses, by being able to control the temp better, 4 months of fries same oil just as good as when new. Perfect.

Disclaimer: My buddy used his on gas stove, burnt it up first time, couldn't figure what that knob on the burner was far, sometimes Wide Open Throttle is a poor option. Blames the pan for his stupidity. Jim

That's what we have (gas stove).......no problems here.
We have a few of their products. Seem to work pretty good.
Still hard to beat cast iron though. I have some that belonged to my grandmothers. (and, yes, I DO know how to cook)

Maybe it would be a good idea if we made a sticky for the SoClean Machine which would contain the zillion threads referencing it. That way when someone asks about it, which lately is every other day it seems, we could point them to the sticky.

Although I did enjoy jnk's post, the same comments over and over and over and over about the machine is getting well, nauseous.

The mold should not be killed. It should be removed. So, wash any CPAP equipment that you are concerned about with soap and water and rinse any mold down the drain.

If you are concerned about mold growing on washed parts while they are air drying, dry them with a clean cloth, a CPAP dryer or even a hair dryer on a low setting (Don't melt your mask!).

Note: SoClean is not killing mold. The amount of ozone needed to kill mold is many times the legal amount allowed and cannot be generated by a ripoff $300 machine.
