I know you have more issues and they have much more impact on your daily life than most people - however, I'm betting your attitude has sucked a lot in your lifetime, and I bet you also have days when it still does.
I've learned to channel that attitude into something more positive. You are drowning in a sea of negativity. If I let my attitude be like yours has stayed, I'd be bedridden, incontinent and blubbering like an idiot.
I don't think there is a person here that can help you until you choose to help yourself. The first step to helping yourself is changing your negative attitude into something positive. Your issues are nothing new and there are solutions out there. You've simply made up your mind they won't work.
I didn't think the ass wand would work either, but at least I gave it a good shot (didn't go well the first few times either) but I didn't give up. Stop giving up.

CBT is anything but airy-fairy. It's now used by the majority of mental health workers as it directly addresses specific problems up front (vs half a life on a psychotherapist's couch) often in a matter of weeks. It's easy to learn, to practice and has helped millions of people to overcome life problems and be able to function well. Again... you knock things you don't try (or only try once) because you're too arrogant, lazy, whatever, but stop discouraging newbies (or even oldies) here. If you have nothing more positive to contribute maybe a different venue would be happy to listen to your whining.

That is probably a correct statement, and if I had gotten something - anything - positive in the last 3 1/2 months, it would probably have been a life jacket to me.

As I said in another thread, I have tried different machines, different masks, different settings, chin straps, and tape. Not once in those months have I felt like I slept well. Not once have I been able to get by without an excessive amount of coffee. I don't see anything else to try. I have tried CPAP, APAP, and ASV. I have tried nasal masks and a hybrid masks and gotten both to seal well. I'm not having any mask fitting issues which seems to be quite common.

CBT is great for MENTAL problems - I agree.
It will not do a damn thing for physical problems like sleep disordered breathing.
And yeah go ahead and say my attitude SUCKS. It does, but it does not have any affect on any of my physical problems.
Maybe if I had migraines or high blood pressure from my attitude, but I don't.

"my attitude SUCKS. It does, but it does not have any affect on any of my physical problems". Seriously? You are so behind all medical thinking - proven - of the last 50 yrs that it's shocking. Over and over it's been shown that attitude, beliefs, etc. etc. have so MUCH to do with physical problems... from everything like the placebo effect to major neurological testing that shows (on MRI and other scans) how the brain actually changes by mental application on physical problems. Have you tried e.g. SSRI's or something similar lately?

Sure, if we're talking immune system (recovering from disease, beating cancer, etc.), but please post links to where it has unblocked arteries, healed heart attack damage, enabled recovery from a major stroke or fixed broken bones.
I'm in Missouri, so "Show Me" some links - 2 or 3 will be plenty.
And yes, i have been on one of those type drugs for over a year - started them a few months before I started to look into my sleep problems seriously.

Well, that makes some sense - it's well known that many people do become depressed following MI's and I'll also put your stroke as likely being at least partly down to untreated apnea. I think you need a talk with whoever prescribed your meds because they maybe need tweaking... has that happened lately?

Yes, in the last year it has changed 3 times.
This last one is working better than the last 2. It is allowing me to see how effing stressful and debilitating lack of sleep is, and how frustrating it is not having any solution.
I am not depressed at all, I am angry and frustrated - not at any person, here or IRL - just in general.

You keep saying that but don't even try to give evidence to support the statement.
Your opinion doesn't stink any less than anyone else's.

re: I like how doctors can get away with tossing out the laws of chemistry and physics. There IS a reason something happens, idiopathic is just their "out" when they don't have a frickin clue.
For sure, lol
