Is this not ok?
Clarenceh9: How long do you leave the concentrator turned on?
Hopefully not all the time.
The beeping is a 'warning' that there will be oxygen entering the area, which is a fire hazard.
The xpap mfgrs recommend that any oxygen concentrators be turned on AFTER the xpap machine, so that the oxygen does not flow into the xpap.
That is the reason for using the check valve, which prevents 'backflow'.
(reverse also true: turn off the concentrator, then turn off the xpap)
i.e., no oxygen unless the xpap is running.
I do not know if these check valves come in any material other than plastic, as that was what was provided me, and I thought it to be sufficient, since it's not exactly a high-pressure unit. .

I'm glad that you said: "WAS" !!!
Someone sure misinformed you, that's for sure. Or didn't bother to tell you anything about the concentrator. I think you're on the right track now.

A concentrator is just like anything you use, they use power, and have a limited lifespan. Besides the fire hazzard, the O2 that's pumped is taken from the room where the concentrator is running. Jim

I put it in a different room due to the heat output, and I need all that 02 for me. javascript:emoticon(':D')
Very Happy
I will call the DME tomorrow and see about getting the valve.
