Unregistered Guests cannot delete posts under any circumstances for any reason. Now take your ball and go back to the playground.

You have been told on more than one occasion if you don't like it here go where it suits you and you can't make those snide remarks or start your very own forum where you can be the queen again.

Your call

Unregistered guests should not be able to post...Unregistered guests are most likely registered guests that want to hide their real identities. Unregistered guests can cause havoc and no one knows who they are. Unregistered guests can change their name with every post and remain anonymous. Unregistered guests can fan the flames and are never blamed.

Maybe Johnny should build a Play Pen Post. (LOCKED) Take the most vile of the trouble makers, put their names and the Date of Release in the pen, and restrict them to a time out. (loss of posting for two weeks the First Time, failure to learn Second Time 4 weeks. Third time Special Pen in a Busy intersection.. (Banning)!

The Pen Pal's, would be read only, while in the Play Pen. However this would have to be with Members Only being allowed to Post.

Some people will only follow the rules, when given something to lose. Jim

Is there any benefit to allowing people to post as unregistered guests?

Jokes on you, I haven't had one in years, Julie lost hers a while back, guest can't have one...

People just don't like you, I guess.... or you were deleting your own posts so that you could accuse others (most likely)

And possibly worst, unregistered posters can't be put on the foe list and ignored... which is likely why some of the most annoying ones post their vitriol that way.

What I hear was that the was that some people aren't smart enough to manage to create a userid and pick a password for a forum...

An idea that was possibly somewhat reasonable (not really) back in 2004 when the forum started... but in this day and age? ludicrous.

Obviously giving all members the ability to delete "spam" has proven to be too much - the power to play God in the hands of mere mortals.

In most forums, the "Report Spam" feature sends a notification to only trusted members who hold the ability to delete. Then the owner only needs to parent a select few if there are abuses.

I think this change, along with eliminating the drive-by-posters (i.e., non-members) would fix the forum.

I have a report spam button but to be honest I'm more concerned about the twitter button, could my posts be going viral on social media without me knowing it?

Wow, never paid any attention to the twitter button. But my posts are always more than 140 characters.

banning the bullies would be better
But you must know that defining a bully is very subjective. In fact, if put to a vote you would likely be found guilty (purely speculation on my part as I am not interested in a poll).
Defining spam is much less subjective and THAT is what the owner wants to prevent.
