Maybe Amazon collected from insurance, I would have no way of knowing that. I just know that my daughter has the cabinet and the $499.00. One door didn't fit properly and he told her not to bother sending it back. She ended up fixing it with a different handle from Home Depot.
Moral... his English suited my daughter just fine. Not the first story I've heard along those lines either.

I have had great service from Amazon.
A couple years ago, I bought an OTC medication that was listed as chewable, but what arrived was not. Since the chewable version works faster, that is what I wanted. They let me keep what I had and sent me the correct version.
Another time, I order some new walls for my pop-up canopy. The photo showed the type I had, but the kind that arrived was a cheaper, lighter kind. Apparently, Caravan uses the same photo for both versions. They refunded my money, including shipping, and gave me a shipping label to return it for free.
Recently, mom mom attempted to order a DVD. She got confused and asked me to finish ordering it for her. She had no idea that she had clicked on a digital version. Or that she had 1-click shopping. She had already purchased the digital copy. I purchased the DVD version, then sent an email to Amazon. THey did refund the money, and they said they would suggest adding a warning window to remind people that it was a digital version.
I have always found that Amazon had excellent customer service, and an excellent return policy.

Have the innovo CMS50f Plus. No problems.
I take it you hit record on and off, to record the session... you have to push for a few seconds to enable.
Also, I found that if you connect and try to read without the unit powered on, it might mislead you to think it is not connecting. Need to make sure unit is on, before reading via USB.
Also, using SPO2 assistant, you have to be careful, as it downloads the data to some obscure place on windows (under virtual store), as long as you know the path, then accessing the data is not hard.
Good Luck

BTW, I purchased it at amazon. And I can attest to other posters commenting, that they will even eat large costs to please customers.
And yes, they will call you right back, using the call back feature, or send you chat transcripts using chat, if you like.
I will say they haven't been as accommodating in the last year or so, but still, nothing bad enough to not use or recommend them again.
I really suggest to carefully try out the software again, it can be confusing, and I can see how one might be led to think it is not working, but it's worth trying suggestions you can find all around on the web, and here.

It looks exactly like a generic cord, but surprise! Proprietary--humor at a discount.
I used their cable. it is software bugs and incompatibilities with various versions of windoze.
besides their cable is IDENTICAL to any USB cable. there is nothing different about it.
do you know how cheap standard cables are
do you know how expensive a custom cable woudl be
they cut every possible corner to make this device cheap not good
the problem is not the cable, but yes i did use their cable.
it is software issues and terrible documentation making that harder.
You're not smart enough to understand this, but for other people... the CMS50d+ and CMS50E use a FTDI cable... unfortunately, they chose to put a standard usb-mini b connector on it, which causes no end of confusion.

I own two Contec/CMS fingertip oximeters, both of which I bought from Amazon, and both work perfectly.
I just looked quickly at my order history on Amazon's site. It shows that I've bought about 450 items from Amazon since 2002 costing about ten thousand dollars. Out of those 450 purchases, I can remember only three problems. Once I received the wrong product, once I received a bag of spices that smelled like insecticide, and once a camera had a slightly misaligned display element inside the range finder. All three times I spent about one minute contacting Amazon and they refunded my money in full, no questions asked. With the food item (the spices) they told me to throw out the product instead of returning it. In other words, they refunded my money in full without even seeing the product. They took my word for it that the product smelled bad. They have also accepted returns from me many times simply because I changed my mind, again with no questions asked, but in those cases they made me pay shipping.
There's a reason why Amazon has grown to be one of the largest companies in the world in just 23 years. They didn't accomplish that by providing bad customer service.

what is actually really funny is the fact that his "computer" most likely still has a real serial port

Another satisfied Amazon customer here. Only had one problem with an order ever, and the seller immediately refunded my money and told me to keep the product.
Yesterday, which was Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada, I received swimming goggles and a swim cap I ordered on Friday, Oct 6th from Amazon, hand delivered to my door.
So, like others report here, I've rarely had a problem with Amazon orders and when I did it was fixed, promptly.

Re Amazon: They are really good. I agree with TASmart that chatting is the easiest. I've purchased from Amazon a LOT and had my share of issues. They ALWAYS take excellent care of the issue. Amazon is NOT your problem.
I've had 2 pulse ox meters (CMS50 & CMS60) - and while I had a little trouble getting them to work with the software, I never failed. Maybe I just have more patience (intelligence??) to work through it whereas you give up and blame the equipment/software.
For the record - I got both my meters to work!
For the record #2 - I've never NOT been able to return something I purchased through Amazon.
I'm truly sorry, but I think we're looking at operator error here....

I have had the occasional problem of orders not arriving in a timely manner. But speaking to a live human being at 1 (866) 216-1072 usually solves it.
I have never had a problem in returning an item. In fact, when the seller wasn't responding to my concerns about a product, Amazon stepped in and let me return it to them for a full refund.

LSAT wrote:I had great results...I went into my order, clicked on return. Then printed out return labels and applied them to my package. I took the package to UPS and had my refund the next day.....Before they even got the return.
That has been my experience also. I have been able to return items that I didn't think would be allowed to be returned.

If you are as smart as you claim to be, you would have known that you can ask to speak to a US-based Amazon rep.

Sorry for this OT response but it was through online chat that a Cricket rep fixed my cell phone voice mail problem. The telephone rep was clueless.
I always call Amazon when I have a problem but your post is an excellent reminder that online chats can be very helpful.
