Picked up my ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. The DME suggested the DreamWear mask for stomach sleeping (although he had no idea what the falcon position was) so I will give that a try.

Anyone curious about the process, I had to pay the machine and mask outright (1800+160) and once I receive the follow up assessment next week I need to submit that, previous paperwork, receipts and the birth certificate of my first born to get reimbursed by insurance. I have cross coverage (my private insurance and my wifes private insurance) so it should be completely covered (80% by mine and the remainder by hers). The apap is brand new, he took it out of the shipping box in front of me. I have 30 days to return the mask if it's no good for me. I suspect they use a 30 day return policy so I have 30 days each time I try a new mask. The DOC didnt know about sleepyhead but the DME did although he wasn't very knowledgeable about it. Uses MyAir which according to this board is pretty shitty. All in all, satisfied with the DME. He actually showed me how to go into the settings etc which from what I understand from the forum, most DME's frown on patients playing in the settings.

Well, there are two levels of settings... one everyone gets to see and use, the other supposedly for 'clinicians', which theoretically we're not supposed to look at, but in fac† which we all do and use to tweak pressures, etc. Some dealers and docs make a big fuss about 'locking' us out of those, others don't seem to care. You should check †ø find out which you were shown because without the 'hidden' ones, you can't do much to control anything.

Thanks Julie, I'll definitely look into that. I remember him say something along the lines of 'clinician' settings but I could easily be mistaken. Other than changing the pressure what other settings are part of the 'usually locked out' settings?

If you only get the user manual.....go here and download the clinical/provider manual and read up on what it says. There's some stuff in it that isn't included in the user manual.

Now you can use SleepyHead or ResScan or both if you wish to monitor your therapy in detail.

The MyAir data...it's pretty much what you can see on the machine LCD screen and that's it. No in depth detailed data.
It's a bit sophomoric what they do with emails and gold stars and "scores" and crap like that but if it makes a person feel good then who cares.

Which DreamWear did you get...the cushion that goes under the nose or the nasal gel pillows?

Any mask can be used in any sleeping position. Some present more challenges than others depending on the mask and the position but the challenges can be met successfully with a bit of work for most people.
The DreamWear should work well for the Falcon position with minimal issues. I have used both the under the nose cushion and the gel pillows version and end up on my stomach a lot without any issues. It's very soft with no real hard plastic areas to dig in to the face if you lay on it.

I do suggest that you use the fleece wraps if you get dents on your face easily.
