I believe the most effective thing may be more and more people putting warnings in their sigs, since that will show up throughout the forum, on old threads, not just a post on the front page.

That's not to say that keeping a warning thread up at the top isn't a great idea too.

THere are some posts by a different username with similar style. I suspect this person is trolling, and not as delusional as he acts. Therefore, he can easily post as two different names and only seem crazy in one.

And I think s/he is a veteran member who is trying to force the Goodmans to hire a moderator(s) and could be related to the recent spam attacks.

It may backfire into getting the whole forum deleted. If this forum becomes too much of a hassle, they may just delete it. That could harm a lot of people in the future who wouldn't get the help they need.

Unless of course that is the goal, or one of the goals, in which case it's not a backfire at all.

If, in fact, these other posters ARE the same person, we'll sniff him/her out. We've seen this type of behavior before. Once there are signs it's the same person (name calling, skewed facts, etc) we'll simply keep adding the new personas to the warning list.

Closing the doors is always an option. No one said this is a well thought out plan but more likely a very selfish plan.

Side note - anyone remember seeing occasional posts from a username xyz? Don't know if it is the same person but that one only came out to hurl insults then go away. Just sayin..

xyz has been a courteous member for ten years and makes some good contributions from time to time.

I just looked up some posts by "xyz" and from the tone, he is certainly not alphabet boy. His posts appear knowledgeable and helpful. I think Chicago Grammy is right, not the same person. (Unless a severe case of multiple personality disorder?)

xxyzx just replied in my thread asking for help with my Pulse Ox meter/software and, shockingly, was polite to me and even complimented me. He still griped about bad software documentation and the like but he paid me a compliment.

I had to pick myself up off the floor (not really, but you get the idea).

Part of me wants to acknowledge it but I still believe ignoring is the best course of action.

I just noticed that post too. He has posted some helpful and nice comments in the past, but the majority have been the complete opposite. I don't know, a split personality perhaps?
