I am not for that level of restriction, but name calling, denigration of mentally disabled and political name calling are not acceptable behavior in my view. As I said, that's my view, and God Forbid, sometimes I fail to meet my expectations ( written in expectation to the inevitable pointing out on my hypocrisy), but that's the price of being human.

But the rules are set by them that pays the bills on a publically accessible privately owned forum, so I will live by them and occasionally feel free to express my view on those rules, as was clearly intended.

My thoughts exactly. It's disconcerting that any old thing is okay I think it leads to people leaving, since there is no control. I've never heard of a site having no Terms of Service. Seems odd. There is so much talent, wisdom and experience here by quite a few posters. Maybe, it could be channeled in a different way. I'll keep my eyes open.

I have dealt with Real Bullies all through school, sometimes avoiding them, in fear, sometimes by confronting them. Real Bullies, are cowards, people preying of others. The cure is a dose of their own medicine. If that doesn't do the job, use what ever dose is required, whining isn't going to affect them. But it won't affect PC Bullies, they bully in groups, many times behind PC Screens with words, safe from the world. I don't consider these to be Real Bullies, as I have the power to turn then off. In the old days, the kids being "Bullied" had to band together to stop bullies, even a bully understands pain, nowadays in our "Liberal World", we are told that is wrong, tell a teacher, they are in charge of policing, they aren't even allowed to punish your kids in the classroom long enough off school grounds, if they like to teach.

Liberals are responsible, for why our children aren't able to deal with real life, the have never been taught to do it themselves, life isn't a rose garden there never been a guarantee it would be, this country was built on hard work, not Pie in the Sky and wishes. Sure children aren't going to be able to cope, they have no parents to teach them. The can teach them to make signs to protest with, then throw them down for someone else to clean up their mess. Jim

Spent my life considering myself conservative (by principle even when not practiced). That was not a political party position, but a philisophical one based on life views, more specifically religious views. In recent times I've found myself more often than not aligning myself outside that traditional framework. So, with all this maligning of liberals, I googled the defintion of liberal and read the wiki, wondering if the label actually fits me at this point in my life. The judgements I see proclaimed in this thread are not reflected in those readings. While I still maintain certain conservative views, some of my views would cause me to be labeled liberal. And no, we are not all alike. Bulls#it stereotypes and slinging derogatory labels contribute to the great divide among Americans. This forum is a reflection of what's wrong in this polarized climate. I personally like who I am now better, having re-evaluated which of my strong-held views I could or could not justify maintaining. Both political sides could benefit from looking outside their own limited world view and respecting that some of the views of others just might have merit, and not be born out of some sort of mental deficit, as the obnoxious term libtard implies. The old saying comes to mind, "There's no fool like an old fool". I can't help getting old but I can help being an old fool if I can be open to never stop learning and growing.
