Since we are in the same region and both Standard, this has to be a latest revision to Tricare rules - yet another one.

The last revision lasted from Jan. 1, 2006 until April 31, 2006 --- a whole 3 months.

I wish they would make up their dang minds.

Did they make you "rent" instead of buy?" Answer: I started out renting because I didn't know better. The supervisor I talked to at Tricare said purchasing was my option, and would be reimbursed if I used a Tricare-approved supplier.

RESPONSE: I have made a .pdf of the Tricare letter. PM me with your email address and I will send it to you.

Boy from the horror stories I'm glad that I have BC/BS FEHB and Medicare.

I am TriCare Prime so I have a bit of a different set of rules from the Standard folks. But as a whole, I am happy (as much as anything else) with them. Granted they are strange in some areas, but they sure beat the insurance in the places I have worked since retiring from the Air Force.

After all of those years in, a little more government confusion is normal

My experience is the same.

Hey...with all their idiosyncrasies, overall, I am pleased with them.

Healthnet, Foundations Health Care and others were about the same.

There are some GREAT things about Tricare...and like any other program, there are some things I wish we could change.

I think the best advice in here for Tricare is to email them for info. I don't know if that will help us in the event we are misled, spend money, then are told Tricare won't pay for something, but on one ever said life is fair.
