Maybe they made it a little bit harder than just a plastic adapter. I have noticed on the video that the hose seems to be some electrical connection. Maybe it's checking which masks are attached to it, via a chip or something similar... Otherwise, it would be very easy indeed to come up with a hose adapter.

That would not surprise me, same tactic as has been done with Keurig cups and inkjet cartridges for printers. Pretty shady if true.

The Airfit P10 is not terribly crush-resistant, which makes it a poor travel mask. The Swift FX, by way of comparison, is very crush-resistant and packs very compactly. The only part of a Swift FX I've ever broken on the road was the hard plastic elbow where the hose and nasal pillow interface. I pack it slightly differently now and haven't had a breakage since.

Launched in the UK today, tempted but not long ago since I shelled out for my AutoSet.

I've no clue what you mean there, the p10, being as tiny as it is, makes an excellent travel mask, I've traveled with it many times, and never had any issue.

now, of course, if your cpap bag gets run over by a taxiing airplane.... yeah, the p10 probably wouldn't come out of it too well, not that it'd matter, since your cpap would also be in tiny shards, as would any hard mask.

You are going to be tied to one particular mask though...something about special venting on the connector might be important to know and understand since proper venting is pretty important.
I don't know that I would be rigging up some sort of connector to make it work with other masks because of potential venting issues.
Looks like the P10 has to be the special model just for the AirMini with no way around that one.

Looks like if you already own the N20 or F20 mask you can get by with some sort of "setup pack" which I have yet to figure out what that is exactly. Probably has something to do with that special connector for some reason.

I don't know what to tell people who don't want to use the new humidification system....haven't read enough to understand it all just yet.

This is one new item I won't be experimenting with so I will leave that to those of you who find this interesting because I do not and I won't be spending the money to experiment for a whole bunch of reasons.

For those wanting "cheap and little" travel system...well it looks like they got the "little" part covered but it is far from cheap.
I do find it interesting that it is the APAP model and includes the "for Her" algorithm and apparently has some app available that will give some sort of information beyond hours of use...probably similar to what you get on the MyAir website.

Who can afford, or is stupid enough to pay, 10 bucks a month just for the privilege of being locked into getting a substandard form of "humidification"?!!

I am looking seriously to get a travel size machine to use on overseas flight, so need a battery. I'm very disappointed in the mini because it is not travel friendly due to all the parts that can get lost. Jeez, you need:
the machine $880
power supply cord
mask connector
HME unit (optional, but I need it)
Long tube
mask $119 for the mask kit
air mini mount system (optional, but it's either that or duct tape it)
Air mini carry case. $83

Now, you still have not added in a battery and it's cord. And that's IF I can make one of their masks work.

I ordered one! Hoping it is better than lugging my old S9 around on my frequent travels.

Me, for one. I travel three times a month on average, with a carry on and briefcase only. $10/month for substandard humidifcation and a CPAP that fits in my carry on is better for me than shlepping a third bag with a full size CPAP. I travel with a Transcend CPAP and the HMEs from the Z1. Not ideal, but I sleep well enough and I consider it way less hassle. YMMV.

I am anxious to hear a review of the Air Mini - my Transcend doesn't have exhalation relief so I am ready to replace it (as that does affect my sleep quality), hoping that the Air Mini doesn't have the "Darth Vader" problem like the Transcend and the Z1 do.

hmmm... me thinks you will still have a 3rd bag. An expensive 3rd bag full of expensive puzzle pieces that you will have to assemble then disassemble each time. How long before something gets either lost, broken, or left behind? You are one in a million me thinks.

Been doing this for 5 years, 75 to 100 days/year on the road, and the ONLY time I ran into issues - specifically, items getting forgotten at home - was when I was still traveling with my home CPAP in a separate carrying bag; on several occasions I forgot to pack the power cord or power brick. Prior to getting the Transcend, I ended up purchasing a second cord and brick to keep permanently in the CPAP bag just to make sure I didn't forget it. Oh, and once I almost left the CPAP in the overhead bin. My travel CPAP stays in my carry on, only three "puzzle pieces (CPAP, power cord/brick, hose with nasal pillows already attached) in their very own bag inside the carry on, seems pretty simple to me. Seems like the only alternative to the problem you pose would be - to not travel? How does carrying a third bag with the CPAP make it less likely that something gets left behind?

PLEASE report back on your experience with it! I'd particularly like to know whether it makes the whiny motor noise that the Z1 is reported to do (my Transcend does this too, though less so), and whether it has the same "Darth Vader" mask problem that many have reported with the Z1 and Transcend).

Hey it is you that mentioned a problem carrying a 3rd bag. I'm just saying it really isn't so bad that I (meaning me) would throw more money at it.
