Besides the laundry type baskets shown earlier you can use any plastic bin with a cover. Preferably a shallow bin but large enuff to hold some other supplies like filters, maybe another mask, etc. No need to cut or drill holes - just place the cover on top; the hose will keep the cover from sealing and allow for plenty of air flow.

The movement of the loose cover should keep the cats away.

The cover also prevents most of the room dust from every reaching the filter. Keep the bin on the floor and you won't ever have to worry about the cpap falling.

Mine was chewing wires for a while, I was waiting for her to get shocked.
But she has been leaving them alone for a good while now.
