A new milestone! After about 10 years on the hose, I finally emptied my first tube of Lansinoh.
If you aren't familiar, it's a cure for mask leaks at the mask/skin interface. It's REALLY for nursing mothers (hence the nick name nipple grease). And it's fun to say!

I'm using same while my nose gets broken in by my P10 mask. It's good stuff. Thanks for the benchmark. My wife keeps using it for her nose that seems to always be raw for one reason or another, so I might not get quite as much out of mine .

That stuff, though wonderful, is simply too viscous!
My tube ruptured, and I transferred the escaped goo to a small cosmetic jar.
Now I need to mix in a wee bit of oil to thin it down.
What type of oil would you suggest?

Rather than oil, you might try glycerin. It's a liquid so should thin it out a bit, and that combination is used in leather treatment products, so it's apparently compatible. Glycerin is non-toxic, so should be fine around the nose or other parts of the body. I mix it with shave soaps to get better slickness.

I am on my 3rd tube in the same amount of time but I also use it in place of chapstick. Tho these days I am using vaseline sometimes in place of both.

Lansinoh is a brand name for 100% pure Lanolin that has been processed to remove the sheep wool smell.
I use the Now Solutions Lanolin Pure, 7 Ounce that has also been processed to remove the sheep wool smell.
It is very thick like chap-stick but thins some when warmed. I use it for lips and for my hands when they get really dry.
It does have a sticky consistency when applied to your skin.
I have also used it to silent squeaky mask swivel joints.
It also worked great to grease my garage door track

I use it FOR the viscousity. It seals leaks at the skin/mask interface. And it will keep a seal when I roll over in the night.
LANSINOH HPA 100% lanolin
Look for it with breastfeeding products.

You reminded me....I don't know what happened to that Lansinoh I had. It IS great for lips and any chapped skin, or elbow moisturizing. Now where did mine go? Heads off to search...
