Yes Alt F4 did at least let me close SleepyHead so I could go find my desktop resolution page...thank god.
And PR is right...he wasn't the little devil who made me do it.
I did it all by myself but did have to contact him once I realized the mess I was in.
The idea was to try various "fixes" to see if we could isolate a for sure fix that we could offer with some exact steps to take when this problem happened to someone else again.

My final analysis...simply don't ever do the SH full screen thing...there's nothing that works consistently for everyone.
Best thing to do...is don't ever go there in the first place.
The report is big enough just by using the little thing in the upper right corner up by the X out button...make that one full size and it's big enough.

I have been having exactly the same issue with SH, I deleted and uninstalled everything SH then reinstalled, still have the problem!
I will try the screen resolution trick when I get home tonight, thank you Pugsy for directing me to this thread, will report back later to let you know if it worked for me.

some windowsy person should figure out where SH stores the 'full screen y/n' setting in the registry, it might be easier to fix than having to mess with resolutions.

Ok I managed to do it, changing resolutions alone didn't work, but I tried changing the Orientation to 'Landscape (flipped)' and then I was able to get the 'View' drop down and switch off full screen - and there it shall stay!

it should, but it doesn't always work, that's part of the nature of the bug.

Ok, I may have a solution for you to get out of full screen mode. Try this:

ALT-v DownArrow DownArrow DownArrow Enter . That should take you out of full screen.
I know this is an OLD, OLD thread, but I had to resurrect it to say THANK YOU to Linuxman for this. It worked and I was able to get out of full screen. I tried everything else I could think of and nothing else worked. I did have to try a second time because the first time I did the keystrokes in sequence. You have to hold ALT-v the whole time, if anyone else messes up and goes into full screen. Although I'm guessing everyone has pretty much figured out that's a no-go zone by now...except me, apparently!
